I currently have an F10 520d and it's badged. Now, unlike many people I'm not ashamed of the badge or indeed the car.

However, as the badge is only on one side I quite like the look of it without, but I don't really dislike the badge either, so can't decide.

I'm just after opinions really, what would you do?

Depends I find badges annoying generally from a detailing perspective they are "always" in the way of a polisher.

Strangely though I have kept mine on the 640D, everyone still assumes it is a x20D anyway then surprised when it moves off far quicker....

I have tbh I find the F10 better and less "cluttered" without the badges.

I prefer the look of not having the badges, however I always think the worse when I see a de-badged car (like the owner is embarrassed etc)

But that could just be me

To answer the OP, only if I was embarrassed about it being an n20D model.

That said, I do have a 645 which is debaged but the way it's going I am tempted to call it Christine and badge it "666"...

How do you know that "everyone still assumes it's a x20D anyway...."?

Do you really think that many people are that interested?

Much neater with the badge removed in my opinion. The only BMWs I would hesitate to do this on are the M models. However, the M badges don't seem as neat as they use to be so on a new one the badge would probably go as well.

Do it! Looks neater and far easier to keep clean. Whenever I buy new I always tick the badge deletion option, if used I generally debadge them myself

Yes. But I tend to de-badge every car I have.

1. Cleaner look
2. Easier to clean
3. I know what I drive. I've never understood this need to advertise the model and type/spec level to other people?

Personally I wouldn't.

Alot of people around here debadge their F10s to hide the fact that it is a 4 pot smoker. You almost know why they have been debadged.

While there is nothing wrong with a 520d why be ashamed of it? At least you have a reasonable amount of clout as well as good MPG.

I've just ordered a new 440i and asked for a full debadge.

1) I don't care what other people think
2) Wax gets stuck in the badges
3) The M badges on the side look naff

My 740i was debadged when I got it. I kinda want to put the badge back but at the same time I kinda like how only those in the know would know it's not just a 2.8

Why not - after all a de-badge is symptomatic with having a billy-basic model!

Would you de-badge a 535 (i or D)? Thought not. laugh

Have debadged both my last 330d and current 340i - looks better without the badges and I know what I'm driving.

I debadged all my old BMWs from my 120d to my 650i and everything inbetween including a M3 and M5. Some cost £20k some cost £70k. Didn't matter to me. I don't like badges. Young lads trying to impress may debadge for another reason but not everyone.

My 550i came debadged from factory.

Before I took delivery I had the dealer put the badge back on! wink

520d debadge. To be honest, it's each to their own. There are arguments for and against and everyone has a different view on it. Do what makes you happy. I dare say some people would think I was stupid, vain, egotistical, flashy (insert whichever adjective you like) for what I did with the 550i. But made me happy so don't care what others think about it.

I removed my M5 badge off my old F10.

I know what it was, certain other people knew what it was. I didn't care or need to impress the average punter on the road with what it was.

Your be surprised that most people simply do not care what you drive.

Yes I would debadge a 520d. However I would also debadge a 530 / 540 / 550. The car is for me not someone else
