Living with a 645/650

Come on, we've shared the journey, now you've got to tell us the last chapter!
Without a doubt A big thanks to you all on here you've chipped in with your comments. Not really has the opportunity to use it much due to birthdays, nights out, etc this weekend. The drive back was about 100 miles. It's so different to the CLS500. Much more usable and behaves better on the A/B roads it's been down. It's a 54 plate 645. The spec is good enough for me although the Logic 7 and dynamic drive could have been good but not something I will miss. From memory it has pro nav, memory heated sports seats, pan roof, telephone in the centre console - still can't get the Bluetooth to pair to my galaxy yet. So far I love it.
A couple more pictures:
Looks nice.
Ref that one with the red interior in Somerset, just me or was that massively overpriced? Not really seeing anything particularly interesting about it, and has the worst (IMHO) wheels on a 6 with a big wheelarch gap.
Is the panoramic roof just a fixed bonded in screen with a cover (like in my Mrs.' Qashqai) or does it lift/retract like a proper sunroof?

I struggled to get my Bluetooth (04 plate 645 Ci) to pair so put a Dension unit in in place of the CD multi changer. You need to get the add on dongle to reprogram the car as well but it was a doddle to do. PM me if you want more details. Thanks.
I had another attempt at the bluetooth ans it just won't pair up. I get as far as putting in a code in the idrive and my phone and that's it. When I opened up the glove box there is a cable in there with some sort of connection that maybe should go to something. I'll try and get a picture of it later on.
The pan roof raise about a couple of inches. Shame it doesn't go back. Oh and that red one was not nice at all. It looks good on paper. Hawthorns in Farnham have/had two 645's with low mileages and both were lovely even at £11k. Shame the black convertible sold.

From what you say it sounds like someone has already pulled out the CD changer

Thanks for the link. Just been out and looked at it's an ipod adaptor in the glove box and no multiplay. I had another go at trying to pair it and no good. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yourself-14/self...

while the subject is hot: Would you guys know what is the color code of the Ellispoid alloys on these ? I would like to peform a repair myself and I need to find the best matching color.

And nor will you, they changed the Bluetooth coding in Android 4.2 and for each subsequent update meaning that any phone running Android 4.2 or higher won't connect to older modules like the one in your 645.Options are to scour the xda developers forums for a patch or a modded rom which includes the patch and then root your phone to install the software or buy something like this Grom adapter which replaces your CD player with a box giving USB / iPod functionality and Bluetooth connection through the stereo when the additonal dongle is used.

I've used one of their boxes for 6 years now and it's been faultless.

I managed to get it to pair to my phone although I've not took it any further. Might take a look at them at some stage but taking/making calls isn't a priority for me - I'd prefer to leave my phone in the boot.Options are to scour the xda developers forums for a patch or a modded rom which includes the patch and then root your phone to install the software or buy something like this Grom adapter which replaces your CD player with a box giving USB / iPod functionality and Bluetooth connection through the stereo when the additonal dongle is used.

Can anyone recommend an indie or garage where someone knows there way around these cars. I'm nr but not in B'stoke.
Not exactly B'Stoke, but I hear good things about Grovesnor Motors (Reading): http://bmwspecialistreading.co.uk/Also Berkshire Motor Works in Wokingham: http://berkshire-motorworks.co.uk/

Thanks Claire.
I have an iphone and it won't pair to my 2004 645. Assume as the software is too out of date. I have a 6 CD loader in the glove compartment which is working fine. Would like to make use of that until it breaks then replace it with ipod functionality. Thanks Claire.
Same for me - phone isn't a priority right now, Would quite like a cup holder though..!

Funny how a lot of people are looking for this cup holder. How much are they to buy ?
Looks like the cheapest solution is getting a cup holder off Ebay and screwing it to the side panel on the passenger side, where the gear stick area is. Check out this thread:http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/f16/cupholders...

Thanks Claire.
They will pair but will drop the connection every 10 seconds or so and won't actually allow you to make / receive calls either, it's really frustrating as it's a case of so near yet so far. I spent hours with the manual trying and re-trying before a quick google told me it was all pointless. Thanks Claire.
Even more frustrating was that I found that after I paid the extra thirty quid for a dongle I ended up unplugging it after a couple of weeks as I found it too distracting to drive and speak on the phone. The ability to carry around about a days worth of non stop music on USB and iPod is great though which is what I primarily bought it for.

Getting the middle boxes removed next week with an x pipe going in - not everyone's thing but I really like V8's and want to actually hear it
The sat nav disc is an old one. As it's the pro system, would this be ok to use?
