Paint and wheel protection on new M3 CP?
Discussion
Hi all
Just sealed the deal on a brand new alpine white m3 CP and will be collecting next week.
Naturally your mind turns to planning for when you get it home etc.
The car will be my daily driver but only covering up to 7k miles a year and living outside.
I want to protect the paintwork and wheels as best I can without stretching to full film protection.
Can anyone offer any advice for a nervous new owner?
Thanks

Do not use the crap that the dealer will try to sell you.
I bought a new M2 in March and had it coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black with Exo.
They guy who did the work had the car for a week. The car was obviously brand new but had to have a two stage machine polish and the wheels also needed machine polishing as the paint on them wasn't brilliant and then it was coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black and I also had the wheels and exhaust tips coated. Best £700 I've ever spent.
All I do now is wash the car with Gtechniq shampoo and it's like new after washing it. Once the coating is on the car you do not need to polish or wax it.
I posted a pic of the M2 in the guys studio on babybmw.net http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=86&am...

Hi,
Yes saw your post on another thread, looks mega!! Did you do anything for the wheels?
Where did you purchase the products from and what did you do exactly?
Cheers

Cleanyourcar.co.uk
supplied all the products.
Prep
Snowfoamed the car, left 5 mins, Jetwashed off, Towel dried it off, checked for swirls, Foam Pad used to apply Essence light pressure as Paint was good (if paint poor) use light Machine pad.
Leave for 3/5 minutes to cure polish off, apply almost straight away Re-load I use a thin sponge to apply it leave a couple of minutes polish off, once the car is done, if you have time do the re-load again it does not take but a few minutes to add an extra coat.
