Bought a 645......I have a few questions

Regarding the sat nav, I've got the updated sat nav discs for 2017 (for my 2004 645i), but postcodes not shown/no option to type in postcodes.

You will never be able to have full post code search on the CCC system.

You can enter the post code at the start of the new address entry screen. I think it's at the "Town / City" level. In mine though I can only enter the first half and then first digit of the second half of the postcode (ie AB12 3..), you then need to know the street address & postal district if the street crosses post code boundries. I seem to remember it's because BMW were too tight to licence full post code search.

To be honest I use Waze anyway.
