Sounds like a really good spec and some great mods.

Problem is it's still not got half the spec my current one has and it's missing a few that I actually want.

However it's only 10 miles from me so it's worth a look at the minimum

My E90 has been in for its recall checks. Apparently if there's an issue they'll keep your car in and install a temporary wiring solution. For the rest of us,we'll get a letter from BMW telling us when parts are available to take the car back for the production fix.

They do a free health check on the car when it's in - why wouldn't they as it's a chance for more work. My car is "all good" according to the technician's little video.

I imagine BMW dealers are swamped at the moment. I booked an E46 in for a passenger airbag in Jan 2016 and they had waiting appointments for the next day. Booked another E46 in May of this year and have a 2&1/2 month wait. All those E9xs coming in I imagine.

Booked my E91 in yesterday for the beginning of August, I am guessing they are pretty busy!

Completely.

Dealers have been registering more demo cars to be used as courtesy cars for customers.

I'm having to get a lift to work as they have no cars for a few months!

I think the 3-Series used to outsell the Mondeo back in the day and they're durable so you can imagine how many they must have to deal with.

Beards, we have a 2005 E91 (six cylinder of course). Yesterday it cut out on the road- completely went dead.

I've just called the supplying dealer and it is apparently not covered by the battery recall. Like a year ago when US cars had been recalled (since 2013 I believe?) but ours hadn't, and then the E90 cable recall was widened but still doesn't include our car. Which would be great, except it's unsafe to drive as it just lost all power while on the road.

Any advice- the dealer are useless- no supply of cables and not covered by recall. BMW customer service? Book it at ETA for them to check?

TIA

No warning lights or anything? Just fully cut out and no electrical power? Is it still dead?

Check the battery wiring and in particular the IBS (intelligent battery sensor). That is where I'd start anyway. Sounds electrical if it was sudden.

COMPLETE loss of power while driving. Hence my thinking about the battery cable recall. I will check the IBS. I'd like some evidence from BMW that there's a technical difference between our 2005 and the recalled cars.

I'm thinking to book the car in for a check at ETA as I trust them. Much more than BMW!

Totally dead no warning and then restarted fine, 3 minutes later.

Need to get a spare alloy that will fit both my e91 330i and the wife's F20 125i with 4pots.

Looking on the styles list I see that the offsets for each are:

E91 - 34 (front)
F20 - 45 (fr)

Anyone got any suggestions for something that will fit from the oem range? Will only be for emergencies e.g. when you buckle a run on a pothole and need the original repaired furious

I have et40 offsets on my e91 now and its fine. They seem quite standard so I'd try that - should fit for both.
