I got a 2nd recall letter for my E91 325i dated 24 September 2018.

So I called Sytner Sunningdale yesterday and have got a date in a couple of weeks time.

I only called them in May (before BMW wrote to me in June) but they "had no parts" so put me on a list so they could contact me when they had the parts - that seemingly didn't work. banghead

It'll get done in a couple of weeks, unless it spontaneously combusts!

I had a call yesterday from my dealer saying the parts are now in stock, so hopefully get mine done next week.

If anyone objects I'll happily remove this post - we've just listed our 2009 E91 330i in the PH classifieds. Happy to answer any questions anyone has.
We'll be sad to see it go but we're leaving the UK to Canada so she's got to go (and the Caterham cry)

Hi!
Mine's an M-sport too, 60k miles and I think an October build date.

Not sure how accurate this is, or if there's more which are covered in a slightly different category.

Mine's booked in for 2 weeks time for the recall, having previously been booked in and cancelled because they had no parts.

We got the letter this week too - I need to phone and book it in. We only have the one car at the moment, and our local dealer isn't that local, so its a right pain if they want to hang on to it. I might ask if they can collect it and drop it back - after all, BMW are presumably picking up the bill.

Am I the only one who's worried what effect there will be on my squeak free dashboard after they've removed all the 13 year old fixings/trim to get to the offending item? smile

Same happened to me (Bristol BMW) but the rebooked appointment happened last week and there were no issues.

They gave me a courtesy car (a mildly underwhelming 118i, although thanks to the turbo it felt no slower than my 325i), did the recall work, topped up my screen wash and coolant (which I thought was fine, hmmm), did a "health check" (no issues) and washed my car (which was filthy).

Can't really complain, to be honest. I wasn't a paying customer but they treated me like one.

No. I also clean the car prior to it going in and ask them not to let their sponge guy anywhere near it. Cleaning the interior also removes any doubt about marks and conditions pre/post repairs. It's OTT but I just can't be bothered with the hassle of resolving st afterwards.

I have one of the 22 registered in 2005. Mine's on 132k but that N52 wear's it so well! Spending way too much on keeping it pristine (Koni active dampers/suspension refreshments/refurbed wheels and retrimmed royal steering wheel) but the thing has got under my skin!

Tell us more about the suspension please? Have you installed Koni FSDs?

Koni ‘special active’ which are the successor to FSD’s. I have kept the m sport springs with new drop links, 12mm spacers on the rear as per LCI and control arm bushings. Couldn’t be happier with it. The car now cruises around town like a Range Rover vogue and handles any surface pushing on. You can feel the cracks and holes are there on our generally stty roads but nothing upsets it now. Highly recommended and at around 400 notes, great value.

Helpful. Be sure to pop back when you're selling your Z4 with the same issues.

Unsurprisingly there are no equivalents on Autotrader at present. However, LCi 325d/330d autos are being pitched at the 10k mark. Go figure.
Are they? I figured my 325d with 100k miles (pro navy etc) was worth about £5k absolute max.
I sold my 09 325d E91 with 70k for £10k privately about 2 yrs ago. The new owner offered it back to me for £7.5k 8 months later and i missed it by 1 day (had to wait for my interim car to sell).

If you're selling an E91 325d LCI with pro nav for £5k give me a shout! 100k miles wouldn't bother me on those

Prices for anything like that are really firm now. I'd expect to lose nothing on my 130i in the last year, despite adding 14k miles (now on 61k)

Having said that, £10k for an LCI E91 without pro nav is strong money IMO

So I’m going to prob put my car up for sale next week. What you reckon about where I should pitch it?

It’s silver with black leather. 2009 LCI, Pro nav, parking sensors, adaptive xenons, heated seats, 103k miles, auto (with m3 paddles so up down one side each rather than the push pull things), michelin pilot sport 4 all round with 2000 miles on them. Bought AUC from BMW 2 years ago and comprehensive insured warranty running monthly. MOT next week which I can only assume it’ll fly thorough so call it 12 months MOT.

I was obviously off with £5k. Was thinking maybe £7500-8500?

I've just had the two recalls done on my 335i, they added it to my service schedule and picked up today. Needs to go back for some warranty work, (vans solenoids and DAB amp) but looking forward to getting it back with the DAB fully functioning again.

Incidentally, anyone have any ideas what its worth? Pre LCI 335i touring, manual, factory tow bar, pro nav, HK sound amongst other extras. Only drawback is it has done 140k but fully maintained by BMW under the extended warranty. Not selling til next year but would be interested to see what its worth.

Wish I'd known aboit those earlier this year. Went with oem on mine. Still, a big improvement to the tiredold shocks that were on.

Tell us more about the steering wheel tho please. Been considering doing something with mine, not least as the matt wrap they put on the centre is peeling as well

Wow - no wonder I struggled to find any 6 cylinder manual petrol E91s earlier this year!

And probably why I ended up with the runt of the litter, a leggy 325iSE. But as runts go it's a great car!

OK it did need recovering last month after the inevitable death of the water pump, but it's done 136K miles and still drives really well - I did a 400 mile round-trip in it today and could have comfortably done another couple of hundred miles.

When buying or selling I go to autotrader and search for the appropriate cars and look at specs, ages, mileage etc to form a view of what they're worth. I also search eBay, including completed listings.

For a knock down, drag-out view then you can go to WBAC and get a valuation from them which will be the bottom trade value (IMO).

Thanks. Am hoping to get back into E91 ownership fairly soon and would be looking to refresh the suspension as soon as possible.

I had an SE on 17s and thought the ride was pretty bad. I was thinking of the B12 or Birds but your review has given me food for thought.

Clearly a man of exceptional taste!

I'm sure I got the 5 figure from HowManyLeft however that does indeed suggest there are even fewer 2009 models and now I can't find the relevant page on there.

It's an excellent car and were we not moving, we would keep it for many years to come but Canada calls with it's abundance of cheap(er) petrol, V8 muscle cars and silly pickups

... price dropped below 10k. It's just had a full 12mths MOT put on it - all clear and Vines of Guildford carried out the 2x recalls.
