I really wanted an E91, but they just don't come up in LCI, manual gearbox, M Sport and with Pro Nav often. So I gave up and bought an E90 instead!

Shameless saloon hijack!!

is the Mondial warranty transferable? I've had my e91 335i 6MT for 7 years and it may be time for a change this year, its been on a Mondial warranty since the BMW ran out but it would be easier for the new owner if it can be transferred.

I'm off non holidays tonight so will pst up pics of my girl when i get back, great motors.

Is yours an LCI or an early?

i stand to be corrected but doesn't the LCI have a twin scroll turbo that works on all six and the pre LCI has two separate turbos that work on 3 cylinders each? I believe the earlier ones respond better to tuning.

I believe the N54 was used in some LCI cars up until 2010. My car [collecting after work] is a 2009.

LCI was from September 2008 and included changes to lights, suspension, wider track, iDrive and spec.
N55 came in 2010 and introduced the twin scroll turbo, so there is some overlap there. I have an LCI n54 for example.

Picked my pre-LCI N52 330i up in late 2012, having journeyed from Manchester to the other side of Exeter to collect it. it had 57k on the clocks and was a very tidy example. I had wanted one with sun protection glass but the search had taken long enough as it was so I compromised.

I had to have some new n/s control arms a few months after buying - I suspect it's had either a bump or heavily hit a pothole at some point as they'd both been replaced. Sadly replaced with cheapo jobbies that kept coming loose and which were also seized on due to cheap materials. Changed for OEM parts and it's been as right as rain since. Only consistent trouble I have is with the mysterious and occasional cut in engine power at low revs when exiting a junction - never found a resolution, and seemingly nor has the internet.

It's now on 103k, and has been superb throughout ownership. It's getting to the point of needing some tidying up, which will probably be done in the next 12mo or so. I had the wheels redone this year in Ferric Grey 1, as per the later LCI cars, and I fitted some darklines a couple of years ago. Also has the full OEM sunblind kit in the rear, which is a good alternative to the sun protection glass, both in terms of reducing heat in the car, making it more difficult to see in, and improving the aesthetics.

I'll be fitting a bluetooth/dab receiver at some point soon, and might get some spacers for the rear to get the LCI rear track look.

I have the CIC setup in mine with aux and usb port in arm rest. I've tried my old iPod classic in the usb and it doesn't seem to want to play. When I went to look at the car the seller had an iPod plugged in and working. Am I doing something wrong or should this be plug and play?

I think you need both USB and aux connected to your I-thing. I do with my iPhone and it works perfect.

I can't remember! I bought someone's Whispbar Aero-X bars from off here, but not bike racks. Can recommend these bars for anyone - I've got a Calix roofbox and it all sits nice and low

Just sold my BMW bars and Altera bike racks to a chap with an identical car, even had the same rear lights.

As long as you keep the 1 series chatter to a minimum A few other v8 bm owners contributed to the v8 bearding thread which was interesting.

I have a "snap in adaptor" (well capability for) which you just plug your iphone in and it all talks to everything nicely. The media ones are going for about £55 on eBay when I last looked.

I've got a "MULF2 Hi-SVS" unit sitting at home waiting to be swapped (and coded) with the MULF2 unit so I can add USB playback to the car - currently Aux and Bluetooth all work nicely though. And the headunit will talk mp3 cd's, so not too bad. I actually burnt some cd's for the cd changer just because it's there - it felt so retro!

Also, last weekend I went up to Bradford direction to look at a E91 335i with/for a friend - but it was overpriced for how rough it was (bodged angel eyes that were falling out and leaking, scuffs, trim falling out, parcel shelf that didn't work etc.) and the dealer didn't want to budge on price - all the cars there were as rough as, avoid the place! So we drove away without it. Anyway, said friend should be along to this thread soon as he's now picked up a good condition pre-lci e91 335i auto with 164k on the clock.
