I'm N52. To be clear though, the Bosch plugs come direct from BMW, sealed in BMW packaging, and have BMW printed on the plug body. There is a separate manufacturer part number on the packaging.
Interesting. If they're good enough to be put in BMW packaging, I'm sure they're good enough for just about all punters.

In case it's any help, the last set I put in my car is:

https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-64024-ngk-ilzfr6d11-1...

I've had no issues since, and they're pre gapped (I'm sure the BOSCH ones are too).
To make things more interesting, there are two NGK manufacturer part numbers. The one you shared above plus PLZFR6A11. The Bosch is
FR7NPP332.

ETA.

Just to go full geekery. I keep all the packaging and things from parts along with the service history so I know what's in the car and when it was fitted. The manufacturer code is shown beneath the barcode. The Bosch ones are what I've just had over the counter from BMW. The NGK ones beneath are what I was given last time and are fitted currently.

I got the part number from the NGK website, https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/ .

When I enter my car (A 2005 330i) it recommends the part number ILZFR6D11.

FWIW (not a lot) I fitted new Bosch FR7NPP332 plugs to my N52 car a bit over 3 years and 20k miles ago. I think it's easy to overthink things like plugs – as long as they meet the manufacturer spec and do the job, you'll never know the difference between makes, they just work.

"2d5f - Reset" mean anything to anyone on here?

Had no issues lately, started up and drove off gently this morning and within 4 miles it started juddering when I tried to accelerate from 40 to 50 mph. It felt like it was stalling or something. Pulled off main road and after a few goes where it refused to move forward I was able to nurse it back home with only a few judders, seemed to be alright by the time I got back.

Never had this issue before and not a lot of information about it online.

BMW E91 325i N52 engine.

Solved: Pulled the following image off the internet but one of these grounding cables weren't quite screwed down, the screw was actually right out. Took it for a test run and all seems well.

Have the air filter to change on my M57, am well aware of the requirement to remove the strut bar from the car to do so.
The attaching bolt that fixes the bar to the firewall is a stretch bolt and should be replaced every time, I am aware that re-using the bolt and not stretching it will cause it to back out, the result being creaking and squeaking of the dash and chassis, stretching it twice risks shearing the bolt.

Has anyone any experience with instead torqueing to spec with high strength threadlock rather than stretching the bolt?

Going back a few days regards my questions about a new battery.I swapped mine today, which was a bit of a faff to remove.Luckily, the replacement was a little shorter.
Looking at the top of the negative terminal, which is where the date of manufacture is stamped, showed week 37 of 2006.
It’s on 135k,so good going imo.A chap at work has the Bimmerlink app,so will get the battery registered in a day or so.

Assuming your car was built in 2006 it might not need to be registered!

The new battery in my 06 plate 325i didn't when it died on 137K.

It’s an 07/56 and hasn’t thrown any obvious faults as of yet,by not registering straight away.
I’ll be plugging it in tomorrow to make sure and coding a few bits at the same time. The battery has been on its last legs for a while,so in the long term registering may stop any over charging as it shouldn’t have to compensate now.Or something like that!

A fresh annoyance - has anyone else had an issue with the catch for the tonneau cover? I only noticed yesterday that mine seems to not be catching properly on one side. It looks like the catch isn't returning and is stuck in.

I'm clearly going to have to get in there and have a look but just wondered if anyone else has had to before now and if so anything to watch out for? I'm guessing something springy will be involved, which always gives me teh fear that something will go "sproing" and disappear never to be seen again hehe

The catches on mine appear fine but the retract is a bit sticky, even when the catches release it doesn't always retract without giving it a knock.

Hi
I’m planning to swap my E91 335i for an i8. I just have no idea what is the best way to get rid of mine and what might be a fair price. The ones on autotrader seem to be crazily overpriced. It’s an LCI car in azurite black with 158k on it. Full BMW service history and turbos replaced a year ago.

Does anyone have any experience of oil leaks with the N53 engine? Mine has been leaving a few drops on the ground and had been flagged as a 'minor' leak on the last MOT. My 'The Man' took a look at it last week and did the following:

Unfortunately, early indications seem to be that I still have a leaking engine.

Any suggestion as to where to look next, please?

Cam cover gasket is a common one.

Is that the same as the cylinder head cover? If so, that was done within the last year.

Sump gaskets also leak, which could leave oil on the ground.
