Hello all

I have a 2009 335i l that has I drive with blue tooth for phone but no audio.

Took ages choosing something ended up with this https://bmwstream2air.com/ which advertises as automatically connects when you turn on the car. Found this not to be true and so I have to power on the adaptor manually each time I want to play music.

I've escalated the case through pay pal who've agreed to reimburse me once sent back. Not had any response from the seller.

Question is now :- can any one recommend one that I can use that will automatically power up and connect to my I phone once car is fired up.

Thanks in advance

Mark

Sure it is not a setting on your phone? All the reviews say it connects automatically.

Have you checked under the settings on your phone?

I've been through a few of these now in an effort to find one that works properly, you'll probably find the one you have is like my first one - rechargeable, hence has to be switched on manually - turning the ignition on only starts it charging. I found a TaoTronics one on Amazon that worked well...for 4 months, then died for no apparent reason.

I've settled on the below. A bit pricier than the rest of the market, but works flawlessly. Powers up when the ignition comes on, pairs first time every time, and uses some of the more advanced Bluetooth Audio Codecs, so sound quality is superb. I got mine for £60 from Halfords, and i would say it was worth every penny. Handles phone calls too (although I have disabled this on the phone, and just use it for music), is compatible with Siri and comes with a voice control app for Android.

It comes in two pieces, the remote control and the reciever itself. Only thing to watch is that the two parts communicate by Infrared so you need line of sight between the two - tricky in a 1-Series, should be easier in a 3.

That is the one many use, you also get the artist/album/track etc. on screen as if it were directly plugged in.

Yes the reviews say it connect automatically but it doesn't. I go in to blue tooth setting on phone and always says connected with the car for telephone. But not connected with the adaptor.

Would of been a great piece of kit otherwise, I know it's not a big deal but it's a pain in the butt having to manually turn it on each and every time.

Thanks
Mark

I use an Alpine EZI DAB, it connects on start up even when I don't want it to, such as when the wife borrows the car and I'm in the house listening to music through a different Bluetooth speaker, which gets dropped and replaced by the car.

I had a JL Audio MBT-RX fitted to my old RS4 to bring it up-to-date a bit. It means the car looks as it left the factory and now means i can stream music without any cables etc. It's hidden alongside the fuses, under the dashboard. I already had factory fit bluetooth but def worth speaking to any decent audio fitter to see if there's a work-around for incorporate phone integration too.

...furthermore to bmwstream2air, the exact cable is sold for half the price from cablecc.com.

So if you're going to buy one, buy it here: http://www.cablecc.com/usb-35mm-aux-to-bluetooth-a...

Also, Tune2Air is the best for automatically connecting with track information - can't fault it - worth every penny!
