Sorry for the boring thread but having search the internet I still can't find an answer .
My 2006 m5 is going for a service and I wounderd what brand of 10w 60 you use in your m engines ?
Castrol don't make the BMW tws any more and the dealership near me uses shell .
My car is being serviced by a trusted Indy who use valvoline oil , is this any good ?
Or should I buy my own my options are
Shell
Fuchs super synth
Fuchs titan pro
Liqui molly
Any advice would be great

Haven't Castrol just changed the name of TWS to Castrol Edge 10w-60?

I use Castrol 10W60 in the M3 in whatever branding it comes in at the time of use (Super car / Ultra performance / Hyper boost+++ ..etc.)

BMW's recommendation of Shell now works in the same way Tiger Woods recommended Nike (Big lumps of cash exchange hands).

This; I hope so anyway as I shoved a litre of it into my old bus. It's not blown up yet.

I put Castol Edge FST 10W60 into the E46 M3. Shell should also be suitable as I believe this is what BMW now use.

Valvoline 10W60 is a very good 10W60 ; it's what a Porsche specialist swore by in his race engines and to this day he has quite a reputation in his field within the BritCar circles.

Thanks for the advice guys . After a chat with a well known car tuner I've gone for Fuchs titan pro s . Basically he told there is no better oil than this £85 for 10l from opie oils which I felt was a fair price

Millers 10w-60 in my e39 - does a good job (motorsport derived I believe).

98k on the clock running on millers she done 394 on a reliable rolling road

For whats its worth...the Shell Helix Ultra Racing 10w60 was good enough for the Ferrari F40.

I've always used the Castrol TWS/Edge etc for the last 9 years in my M3, but i'm sure there are plenty of good equivalent oils you can use.

I Bought 20L of the shell for my Ferrari for £103 from a supplier on ebay so its well priced if you shop around. Opie oils are very good i normally get my Castrol from them.

Same oil here, just without the power output!
