Hi all,

Newbie here. Thanks for letting me join! I was hoping someone could advise on a tricky little problem with getting a bonnet badge to fit my car.

Some scrote ripped the bonnet badge from my 2004 3 Series estate (E46 shape) the other week. I looked online and have bought the badge that sellers tell me is correct for my car but it doesn't fit...

Here's the one I bought:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Front-Emblem-Bonnet-...

It clearly states it fits the E46.

You can sort of see from one of the pics that there are two long prongs on the back of the badge that are clearly meant to fit into two holes in the bonnet of the car. Problem being my bonnet doesn't have these holes- doesn't have any in fact. It DOES have a load of residual glue from where the old badge was fitted. But no holes.

Is there a better badge I can buy that will fit out of the box? Or is the job to saw the prongs off of the badge and try to get it on that way?

Many thanks, appreciate it!

Gareth

AFAIK all emblem badges have two prongs, my guess is that your bonnet has been replaced with a pattern part with no holes at some stage. You can cut off the prongs and stick it in place I suppose.

^^This, all oem bonnets have holes, if the badge is physically the right size I would cut the prongs off as said and stick the badge on with a dollop of sealant.

Use CT1 - best stuff I've ever come across for bonding that's readily available.
