I don't think it is possible to do this any more, you could try bmw themselves but I doubt it.

My understanding is that BMW were using a VRM data lookup for their warranty extension microsite, which is a pay-per-click type of affair (although obviously we're talking pennies per click on such a large website). They couldn't lift the data from their own mainframe as this is unavailable at some points in the week, hence used a third party data provider to keep the site functioning 24/7.

Nevertheless, I'm hardly surprised they have decided to stop displaying VINs and hence reduce their burn rate, as so many people were abusing it just to find out VIN numbers. Over the years, it must have cost them thousands in unnecessary lookups.

You could always contact the seller?

hi can anyone please help me find my vin on my mini pickup , ive lost the vin plate during restoration many moves and nearly 20 years storage, never had log book as bought as rust bucket for restoration, DVLA no help obviously ! Reg is PAX579M. my email is gogadget01@yahoo.ie ,any help much appreciated

it would still be registered to previous owner as DVLA would not accept my application without vin .

anyway i am indeed very much relieved as was such headache iv not got round to it, thanks for your quick response and help

Why are people being so secretive about doing a Reg --> Vin lookup?

Just use this site: http://www.blue-print.com/Newweb/index6_fs.asp

Bung in the reg and it'll give you the vin.

I see there's results for chassis vin numbers .I have a Morris van ,reg. dmo175k.with no number and dvla no
help.have restored it nearly but stuck now.tried the checks it says on here but didn't work for me.can somebody help please

I have taken on an abandon project lost log book ' chassis number sand blasted to hell so can't read DVLA wont help at all can anyone help me find me the vin of BKO686C thanks . I have the expensive HPI but that only check the vin that i give so not any use to me . Any help would be very welcome Thanks
