Just Ordered 340i Shadow Edition.

Hello Everyone.

My first posting on PistonHeads so please break me in gently :-)

I've just ordered a 340i shadow edition. Now the waiting begins.... The car has been stuck at status 1100 for while, so hoping it starts its journey through the factory soon :-)
Does anyone have a view on how long these are taking to be built?

Did you go for saloon or estate?

Don't know about current build times, generally it takes longer if you have ticked any individual options, such as paint or merino leather (mine took 6 months because of both, but that was a year or so ago). Did you get insight form the dealer on the expected delivery date?

Its a saloon.

Unfortunately I had an 'accident' and hit 'select all' on the options, so I guess this might affect the time. The Dealer quoted 1st week in December for the car to be with me. I was hoping it would have moved from status 1100 by now, but I guess I'll have to be patient. :-)

I ordered my 440 the second week of May, with individual paint (Tanzanite Blue) and merino leather, and I'm expecting to receive the car the third week of October. Getting very excited now!

Wow, I hope I’m not waiting that long for mine. I was hoping mine would arrive in December at the latest.....

Don't hold your breath. If you order from the Individual paint range, it will probably get delayed. I just received an update from the dealer saying my build has been pushed back AGAIN into the middle of November. So this stretching out now to possibly 8 months...surely some sort of record!

Close to ordering a shadow edition myself. I already have a F31 340i but already done 30k and will be on 40k in March when the new one arrives.

My current car is Melbourne red and looks lovely imo.

I am going to go sunset orange on the shadow Edition I think.

If the G20 arrives here in 2018 I think it could be towards the end of the year; BMW usually have 7-year model cycles and the existing F3x went on sale here in 2012 (so on that basis it could be early 2019 before the replacement arrives).

However, the F3x is definitely coming towards the end of its life and personally I'd only buy a new one now if there was a very good deal on offer (as in a discount of over 25% accompanied by low-rate finance).

I have a deal I am about to do at 23% and 1.9% finance.

Don’t think I can get any better on a shadow edition.

Broker4cars are offering 28% off an F31 340i Shadow Edition. Their APR and GFV aren't very competitive if you use their finance but no reason why you can't use their 'Buy Outright' figure as a lever to get more of a discount from a BMW dealer and, having agreed a lower price, then finance the car via BMWFS?

Finally it's moved from status 1100 to 1200....so I guess things are progressing..just slowly..

The broker 4 cars deal only
Works out £300 over the term on their finance once there fee is included and my dealer won’t budge and they did a good job looking after my on my current 340i so am going to go with that deal. Thanks for your help though.

Some times some dealer good will, is a lot more valuable than what you might save trying to shave them to the bone....just can't wait for mine to arrive now. :-)
