Any BMW Dealer Salesmen on here?
Discussion
I was wondering if there are any BMW Dealer Used Car Salesmen on here? I have a question about the flexibility you have on AUC Warranty extensions to more than 1 year..........
Occasionally BMW have promotions where they offer free 24 month AUC Warranty instead of the usual 12 month. How easy is it to get this if there isn't a promotion on? It seems like getting blood from a stone with a recent negotiation I am involved in......
Also will there be any such 24 month warranty promotion this coming Black Friday?

I work for a BMW dealer in sales, I believe it has something to do with FCA regulation and only being able to offer whichever warranty the car is advertised with. It's a pain to set up and most dealers I have worked for don't know how. I now work for Marshall and we offer our own in house extended warranty, which starts after the BMW warranty ends, and covers the same bits and has breakdown with at home recovery. So I should imagine most of the big groups will do something similar.
Hope that helps

I asked the same question when buying my 640d from Rybrook.
It’s worked out in my favour as the mileage was just under 60k at the time I bought the BMW insured warranty that costs £77pm for as long as I want it to continue, it is not an annual policy.
If it went over 60k the same warranty would be £140pm instead.
The next big step is 100k.
So it has actually worked in my favour this time

I bought a 14 plate f11 last week and had no trouble negotiating a 2 year warranty as part of the deal. The paperwork says the cost to them was £600
I believe the cost to the dealers is £300 pa, so that would be correct. I recently asked for an extra year as part of a deal at a Surrey dealer who said it wasn't possible, even to pay for it, I was told the same thing at Williams Manchester.wibblebrain said:
Well I am in discussions over a car costing £31k and the only thing they need to do to close the deal is extend the warranty and they won't do it. They won't even let me pay the cost of it - they are adamant that they cannot add the extra warranty.
Interesting statement from the dealer. I purchased my current car in February, and was offered a 12 month extension of the AUC warranty (from 12 to 24 months) for £399 or so. As I'd want the warranty anyway, it was a no brainer - much cheaper than buying it later on.mssond said:
From what I know the AUC warranty doesn’t cover wear and tear, but the extended BMW (theone you get online/after) does upto 100k if you take the fully comp, worth a look what the cover differences are if warranty is important to you

Would have thought they’d have sorted that under the AUC cover to be honest...Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
