The ride on 20" wheels with run flats is pretty punishing on broken roads too. The steering is completely lifeless as well. I adore the looks of this shape 6 series big time for sure though.

They make a very good mile muncher imo.
Well I have bought a 640i. Drove one wednesday but didnt like it in white so have picked up a 65 plate M Sport in black with ivory white leather (my favourite combo). Perfect for the motorways and still quick and sounded nice to so it will do me just fine.

Its only done 20k , still in warranty and has a service pack so is great value for money.

I have a 635d convertible and love it.

Granted, the engine sound isn't exactly stimulating, but after a bit of tinkering by DMS its plenty quick enough.

I've recently been toying with the idea of an M6 Gran Coupe but suspect I'll end up buying another 'vert, 640d mSport I'd think.

My daily commute is circa 120 miles. The mapped diesel gives me 500 - 600 miles out of a tank.

I'm quite happy with that, 340ish bhp and bags of torque. Oh, and the roof comes off smile

Go for petrol!

If you even consider diesel you might as well leave here and go to mumsnet. banghead

Well i ended up keeping the 630i and running it to Heathrow and back for 18 months. Just a fantastic car for a 25 mile motorway commute.
Now on 118k (bought at 85k), averaging 30mpg and debating whether to hang on to the car and refresh or just sell for relative peanuts.
Just had the wheels refurb'd and mirrors repainted. Next planned would be a suspension refresh.

Tonight, i'm picking up a 2011 640i convertible , no reason to change other than i've had the 630i just over 4 years....
