I've recently bought a salvage front wing for the Z4 which I knew needed some paint work (no other issues). Turns out there are more scratches than I bargained for and ideally need to get the whole panel resprayed - luckily it's off the car!

Can anyone recommend an outfit in the shire/city? Warren at North East Autobody seems to get a lot of good recommendations on older threads, but they are 4-5 years old so wanted to check.

Barry Cooper at Fordoun is worth speaking to.

Can't go far wrong with Graham Dawson in Tullos. Really friendly chap and did a great job of respraying the boot on my Mustang after it was vandalised. Not too heavy on the old £££ either.

Kintore autobody are cheap and do good work for the price.

Steve Reid Autobody in Stonehaven is easily one of the best in the aberdeen area, a true perfectionist. My car isn't an easy one to work on, which we both knew before works began, but he let me know that he wasn't happy with the first result and started from scratch again with no extra charge.

I would imagine you're going to need it painted on the car and blended into other panels.

Painting a wing off the car will probably result in a clear colour difference to old paint.

He's done a great job on my bike and car, however the one problem I've had is that he's really busy. It took ages to get the last load of parts back!

Some bodyshops in Aberdeen have quoted me 6 weeks in the past. The good ones aren't short of work.

I totally understand that, however it’s one thing to say you’ll be 6 weeks before starting the work, it’s another thing to say two weeks and take longer.

The works always been very good. Maybe I’ve just been unlucky with timing, but it did take a fair bit longer than quoted.

Thanks all; I ran out of time over the weekend and had to do with slapping the wing on and doing a passable rattle-can job on it before heading back south.

I got the same recommendation for North East Autobody when I had some painting done. The match wasn't great (fair enough it was bumpers), but mainly very unhappy with the quote I got vs the actual bill - turns out he had quoted per bumper or something, or hadn't included labour, or VAT... was said it would be about £450, ended up more like £800 (don't remember the exact numbers). Wouldn't rush to re-use them, no matter how many people told me they were the best.
