I recall Mondial was the official BMW underwriter and therefore a good choice for extended warranties. Allianz Assistance either took them over or rebranded the product. Any experience. Still a great product? TIA

I had a fully comprehensive warranty with zero excess covering both Mondial and AWP I think. What I did find however, was that warranties are dependent on dealerships and your relationship with them.
I had an awful experience with Sytner Oldbury and their refusal to undertake work that was covered under warranty.Querying this with bmw uk led to a u-turn.
I never returned and continued to have a fantastic experience with Rybrook Warwick.
In my experience, they are still the best warranties to have.

Thanks. I’m not following exactly. Mondial were no good but Rybrook were good. Never heard of Rybrook. They appear to be a Bmw dealer. Are you saying, buy the policy from bmw and get better looked after?

Mondial were the underwriter of the BMW warranty. Despite Billyray911's car being covered by the aforementioned BMW (Mondial) warranty, Syntner BMW refused to carry out the warranty work until he complained to BMW UK. Since then he has used Rybrook BMW who are good. That's how I understood it.

If I may summarise.

Allianz offers a product that on paper is great.

Bmw dealers on the whole are s. On a scale of Arthur Daley to Kwik Fit most fall within that range. Work that is covered under warranty will frequently be denied by the arthur Daley kiwk fit gatekeepers even though alianz would actually pay.

Having a "relationship" with a dealer is uber BS. They are a fking garage and its fking white goods mass produced consumer product - T&C should rule.

Mondial Assistance were bought by Allianz 15 odd years ago and rebranded to Allianz Partners in 2012. They are the same business and have been providing the Extended and approved used car warranty for BMW for many years.

From my experience, they stand by their word and pay genuine claims. The relationship with the BMW dealer doesn't come into it.

I think Billyray911 is saying Sytner Oldbury were crap, but Rybrook were good.

Nothing about the warranty - other than if you must have a warranty then the BMW Insured one (whoever administers it) is the best to have (out of the alternatives).

I've only ever had the Mondial one - and they paid out much more than I paid in over the 6 years I had it.

I find the warranty company to be good, but as mentioned it is your dealer that you generally go through and they can leave a lot to be desired. At my local dealership the majority of the service advisers have no idea what is actually covered and what isn't and the default response is that it's not covered. If you phone up the warranty company they are very helpful.

Have to be honest using my BMW warranty was painless without any issues.

I simply said my car is covered by a full comprehensive BMW warranty and they took care of the rest - was very impressed.

Sorry for the confusion.Yes,I’m saying that the warranty itself is good and had continued to be a good product despite the underwriter. However I have found that the way dealerships interpreted what is and isn’t covered, varied!
Over time,as I built a decent relationship with the service department,I would often find that wear and tear items had been fixed as well.

The workshop controller is the one who has the power to persuade the warranty provider to authorise the work.

As a customer you meet the service advisor.

They talk nicely to you or flutter their eyelids.

I used to be at the end of the food chain-Technician.

Wear and tear is covered up to 100k miles on the comprehensive policy. It increased from 60k miles a few years ago.
