Looking at buying a 1 series, 2015/16 - 2.0L diesel

Just wanted to know what the actual differences are between the M Sport and the regular Sport or even the SE?

So far all i can see is the body kit difference, surely there must be more to the infamous M badge?

It’s not the “infamous m badge though”. It’s “M Sport”. Just like Audi sline is just a trim. M sports are just the sporty looking normal model. So you get body kit, m sport suspension, unique wheels, nicer seats, black headlining etc.

The sport is just the base model SE with sport seats, different wheels and black mirrors.

Sport is trim stuff only, M Sport includes different suspension.

I’ve had Sport trim 1 series’ as loaners and the seats and suspension were awful.

I’ve not driven a M Sport 1 series , excluding the M135i , but the Sport trim 1 series cars felt far inferior to the M Sport trim cars in any 1-5 series I’ve driven over several generations.

I think the 1 series had it’s facelift in 2015 so 65 plate onwards could be the best age.
