Pleasantly surprised to have just had a pleasurable buying experience with Lloyd's BMW Carlisle on a new build X3 M40d. Discount on it seems crazy even now. I know some will say lease, lease, lease is the way to go but the PCP deal is comfortably within our budget which is the main thing.

Glacier Silver
Cognac Vernasca Leather
M Sport Plus Pack

for the minor details.

Be interested to hear current owners feedback, initial test drive was all very positive or if I have missed a thread ongoing please send me in the right direction.

I've had an M40i for 2 months and 2000 miles ... so only a short period of time but really impressed !

Build is superb, nothing I am not happy with. Ride is great even on 21" wheels and the ergonomics spot on.

The seats are so comfy. I went with the upgraded leather which may be why they feel soft but the comfort levels are not what I have been used to in an M240i or Z4 35iS.

If I did more miles I would have looked at the M40d as I love the punch from that engine but opted for the same engine I had in my 2 series convertible (albeit a slightly different tune).

You will enjoy it !!

Thanks, exactly the sort of feedback I keep reading on almost every forum I can find info on it. Can't wait for delivery now.

Hi Jonny, please could you say how much % discount you achieved on the list price?

I'm a complete newbie to BMW but thinking of potentially buying one of these for my wife and would be interested to know how much a new one is compared to a used 68/19-reg car we're currently looking at.

This deal may be of interest - https://www.berryheathrowbmw.co.uk/cars/x-series/x...

£569 deposit and £569 per month

TRL over at babybmw can probably help you out if you fancy this

Looking to purchase outright, not a pay monthly deal.

Anyway I have my answer....wife will have to make do with 6 month old used if we go for an X3....the discounts aren't big enough for us to justify a new build order, especially by the time we've spec'd it up to the same level as cars we've already seen.

I have had my M40i for 17 months now. It was one of the first in the UK. It was a brave order as I hadn't driven or seen one!

17 months on - still love it!

It is a great all round car - no regrets at all! Think this one could be a keeper!

Pre PPF and no doubt a lot more power than my PPF one ... and noise, of which I have none. I love mine but you do need to keep yours !!!

Indeed!

I also have the spare wheel, which is no longer an option.

My neighbours like the start up noise!

I'm 5 months in on a M40i (PPF) and agree its a fun toy. Interestingly I'm just back from taking it to the south of France (avg 31 mpg), I have noticed its louder after sitting @ 130kmh for hour after hour.
