Evening...

Our 335d has lost all of the sounds....radio, warning sounds, phone, media.....the whole lot..

The system menu won't let me reset the sounds.

Anyone have an idea on what this could be caused by and a possible solution?

Cheers thumbup

Interesting thread, I'll follow this one, no idea as to the answer, sorry :-) but I've noticed sometimes when I start my e92 up, the radio takes 10 or so seconds to come on, other times it comes on as soon as I press the button, the same when I turn the car off, the radio stays on for a fair few seconds. maybe this could be the start of similar issues?

Not BMW related, but when I’ve had this on other vehicles, it’s been Amp related. So may be worth checking for fault codes.

Failing that, the good old battery reset is a popular fix smile

Regards the E92, is there a software upgrade available ?

Very occasionally the M6 does (did, I use an obdII trickle solar charger now) this. Typically after it’s been stood a while. 10 minutes driving then turning the car off, locking, waiting 5 min & it’d all come back.

First port of call therefore would be the state of the battery imo. If it’s not that, then I’d be getting the codes read - maybe a dicky module?

I’d guess that the waiting 5 minutes, is the extended ignition, timing out.

Thanks for the replies.

It’s definitely not the battery.

The on / off / volume button also does nothing so I think it’s a possibly a fault with the main amp.

I’ll try to remove / repack the relevant fuse and see what that does.

Any use? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxELVPXV2r8
If you also have 21c in there I'll be amazed, but the code reading part etc is more relevant.

Have you tried unplugging the MULF module? These fail and cut the sounds as it thinks there is an incoming call.

I've tried everything I can, thought if it's a quick fix it wasn't worth the pain of getting it back to BMW...

It's now going in on Friday, spoke to BMW, it's under warranty so I'll have to drop it off...

I'll update, just in case it may help someone else in the future.
