It’s insurance and if you don’t claim it’s a waste of money.

However my Mrs went through three tyres on her X3 and it made it very worth while, I didn’t claim at all in my X5 so you suggest it’s a waste of money.

I’d go for it and have done on my M5 at a similar cost yes

Nope, current Cayenne is only 2 years old, so its not even got to mid-life update yet.

No diesels though anymore.
oops - yes your right - forgot it had the facelift (should have known better, I've had a hybrid & turbo previously )

Car is registered 31/12/16 any reason for this why not wait til 17?
Probably that guy who couldn't get any time off for Christmas and New Year who needed something to do in the office, where it's just 5 others and the security guard rolleyes still a 66 plate, as the 17 plate starts in March... I have a 2015 car on a 64 plate, because it was registered 10 days too early tongue out

Enjoy your X5, I was surprised by how light the steering is too. You should have NBT Evo, the latest iDrive before all that hand gesture nonsense was introduced. The live information for traffic is good, it was on my 66 3 series Touring I had before.

I'd like the new X5 but will wait and see if they do a full electric version soon as I understand BMW are going down that route with the X5 as opposed to a hybrid.
Hybrid version of the new X5 is already on sale in many markets, and has been for a while......just not being sold in UK.
Cool - wasn't aware. I made the mistake of blindly believing what my dealer told me!

slightly off topic but has anyone remapped their F15 X5? Either the 30d or the 40d? Bootmod3 only appears to do Petrol unfortunately from what i can tell so thats not an option (commonly used on M cars).

Thanks

Another hijack.

Do I need an M my sport in the 40d?
I quite like the idea of cheaper tyres.

It's one of the reasons I bought the SE and not the M-Sport.

I speeced the all season tyres from new on mine (which you can't do now because of WLTP) and yesterday I just clocked over the 40k mile mark in mine after 4.5 years, and I've still got the factory fitted tyres on mine...biggrin
Fronts will probably need replacing in another 2-3k miles most likely....but at about 160 a corner compared to the silly prices for the 300+ section rears on the M-Sport that seem to last bugger all before needing replacing, its a significant cost difference.
