Does any know if the 340 wireless charger will accept a samsung 21 ultra. On my s4 the mat itself is smaller than the phone but as its in the centre console there is plenty of room for the phone

It doesn't really matter, just presume you will have nothing at the end and you will be fine.

Or go and buy a Porsche if you want to lose £700 a month. A 3 series for £700 a month is nuts imho.
Yes I agree. 6 years since I got mine and the prices seem to have risen by 25% I guess. I know it’s a better car, but they feel too expensive now.

I bought mine out right and think it’s cost me about £300 a month in depreciation to now. Much as I’d like to chop it for something new and shiny it doesn’t seem to make sense.

Thanks for all the feedback on partners driving the M340i.

Feels like I've pretty much assumed correctly and definitely selling it based on creature comforts.

I really don’t understand why anyone would buy one and spend a fortune changing the perfectly good run flat tyres to something the car wasn’t designed to run on.
You don't understand, have you tried non run flat tyres on a BMW, perhaps that may help? The run flats are perfectly good for some people, not so much for others. I didn't know the 3 series was designed to only run on run flats?

Yes of course I’ve tried a BMW on non run flats. As I said I’m perfectly happy with the tyres that came with the car.

Also as the cars no longer come with a spare tyre what do you do if you get a puncture on a non run flat?

Lots of BMW’s come as standard with no spare and non run flats. BMW supply a mobility kit, a bottle of tyre sealant and tyre compressor. My wife’s 1 series has non run flats, my 235i has non run flats, I believe all M cars are on non run flats.

The wife’s X1 had non run flats, it came with a repair kit, I bought a spare for it and luckily there’s enough room under the boot floor to fit it in.

cheers for the tip on the samsung ultra 21

one question going back to the base audio is does anyone know whether mini use a similar system. the reason i ask is that my wife has just bought a mini 17 clubman. now the audio is not as nice as my S4 B&O system but from memory its much better than the base system i had on my m135i

now if the m340i basic system is as good as the minis then that will be fine for my needs and i wont need a model with the HK upgrade

Lucky you. I’d go back to carrying a spare in a heartbeat.

Not having a spare wheel is really narrowing down the options for what I replace my car with. At the moment I’m thinking of keeping it as I don’t want run flats or a repair kit.

Changing a 3 series onto normal tyres makes an insane difference. I’ve had 3-4 and always swapped. So much better ride it’s unreal.

Sometimes have had a spare wheel in the boot, other times just a can of foam. Never had a puncture in one of those particular cars funnily enough though.

Run flats are rock hard crap.

From personal experience I'd agree with your sentiment in terms of the E9x 3-series and to a lesser extent the F3x as well; however, my G21 M340i is on Pirelli run-flats and it's nowhere near as bad as you describe. Don't get me wrong, when the time comes to change I'll probably go for a premium brand conventional tyre with a puncture repair kit in the boot; however, unlike the earlier generation run-flats I won't be throwing the Pirellis away before they're due to be replaced - they really aren't that bad IMO.

I’ll take your word for it, I bought my car new last year and I’m perfectly happy with the ride. I certainly won’t be throwing away 4 perfectly good tyres to see if non run flats are better.

Interesting to hear, I swapped my F31 to non-runflat PS4 and it made a huge difference from the run flat Conti's it came with, but only after they were worn, my M340i is a few weeks away and planned on changing to non-RFT PS4's pretty quickly.

Same here, mine's due in late July, so keeping an eye out for any decent deals.

Given the choice from the factory I'd certainly have opted for a premium conventional tyre in preference to run-flats but to be fair to the Pirellis my G21 came with they're not so so bad that I've felt the need to throw them away and fit conventional tyres immediately. However, depending what your car comes fitted with, you may have a different view so I think you just take delivery and form your own opinion - if you think you need to bin the run-flats and fit a set of PS4's straight away then fair enough, it's your car and your money! smile

Had a change of plans so sorting my m340i through Tony Lewis now, and had some photos through.

It has Goodyears on! Still runflats by the look of it, but happier with that.

What do you do with the tyres you take off? Seems a shame to throw them away.

By all accounts they're the best of the run-flats BMW fit so hopefully you''ll be ok with them!
