I had an M340i. One of the easiest and best improvements to the ride was to ditch the Bridgestone run flats and for Michelin pilot sport ps4s. Then comfort had genuine compliance and sport a decent bite.
I’ve had mine over 3 years now and have absolutely no problem with the Bridgestone run flats.
I planned to change to PS4S but the dealer gave me a load of waffle about the alloy being made to suit a run flat tyre. Also front tyres were fine so I just stayed with the Bridgestone RFs. Might look at it next time.
Tosh... Alloys are better off for not running RFTs most of the time; RFTs are what crack alloys when potholes are hit; generally non RFTs will allow you to get away with it!

You’re totally missing out. The ride is better with the Michelins and the traction, grip and feedback are in a different league

Yeah, it’s a load of rubbish. If you bought an M340i in the USA it would come with PS4S straight from BMW. Just like the majority of M cars do.

Yes that’s the one. I bought it new as a stock car from TRLdeals so the spec is pretty good, mineral grey, black leather, shadowline plus so all blacked out, Pan roof, HK sound, full electric memory seats. The springs and spacers are the only mods, daily driver for me, never missed a bit.
Traded it for a new M3 Touring and whilst that is more of an event I’m already missing the low end torque of the B58 a bit oh and the fuel economy lol

And yes the PS4S’s make a massive positive difference.

Amusing how the new owner is possibly not even going to know about the mods. I bought mine remotely and it was hard enough to get them to confirm the tyres fitted.

Price seems about in line with the one I bought which was 45k for 19k miles. Same spec bar colour without shadow line but with comfort and tech packs.

Looks a cracker. If it had had the tech plus pack I’d have been putting a deposit down. Not to worry, i suppose half the fun is searching for the right car.

Enjoy your M3, that must be some machine!

Has anyone taken extended warranty with BMW recently? I was wondering what sort of price to expect.
Mines 2021 with about 22,000 miles. It expires in March 24. Just tried online and had to call them. It won’t generate a quote until the 3 month point so I have to call back in late December.

What’s the general feeling with this? Is this the best route to go down?

When my 340 turned 3 years old BMW wanted £48 per month to extend the warranty, that’s with a £250 excess.

Been keeping an eye on prices of these for a few months now, they seem to be over valued at present compared to the rest of the 3 series range. Especially the face lift version. The M240i seem better value although these have not got MHT so not sure what the mpg will be like compared to the 340i .

I had to Google MHT.

Loved my 340 but ordered a 440 Grand Coupe replacement.

Thanks. I'd be happy with £48 per month. I'll update once I get a quote.

Thinking of buying one myself in the very near future, either a used LCI or to lease a new one. It'd be my first BMW (previously Audi & Mercedes only). Anything I should look out for when viewing used ones? Also any options packs I should definitely consider? If I go lease I'd probably just get the base version without any packs...will I still enjoy the standard music system etc.? Colour wise I'm leaning towards Skyscraper grey (ideally with red interior or perhaps oyster), Brooklyn grey (red interior) or mineral white. Dravit grey seems quite dark in some pictures and almost pearlescent in others so I'm undecided on it but maybe best to see one in person in the colour before making my mind up.

Appreciate any input on the above beer

They’re pretty well equipped generally, but I’d look out for comfort plus and the tech (plus?) pack. Get the electric seats if you can, which I think is in comfort plus. Feels more suited to the car. I’ve got the uprated sound system, but tbh, it’s never blown me away. That might be a factor to consider as the entry one might be even less exciting!

On colour, always personal preference. I really like the darker colours. It looks amazing in Tanzanite if you can find one.

On the whole though, they’re lovely things and great to own.

Any with a reg originating in Thorne (YA-YL) and absolutely no options (they normally have red brake calipers too), AVOID. They're probably ex-rentals and have been absolutely flogged- I've had a fair few through work and used launch control more times than I can count, as have many of my colleagues. I've seen a few of them pop up on the used market too...

Other than that, the tech pack is probably the one I'd personally think is 'essential'- the HUD is fantastic, and Harmon Kardon is a worthwhile upgrade. Adaptive suspension is probably decent, but in my view not necessary, I've never had a complaint about the ride in the base cars I've driven- whereas I despised the S-Line 2.0TFSI Audi A4's I've driven for the ride...

The dravit grey is a lovely colour up close and when the sun hits it. As said a must have pack I would say is the tech pack. The Harmon Kardon upgrade is average at best, so again I can imagine the standard stereo is dire. A sunroof can help lighten the interior up if you go for a dark colour. But in any guise they’re a fantastic car and after a test drive you’ll be smitten I’m sure.

Thanks, just seen one in Dravit grey with Tacora red interior…hard to know what to make of the colour due to it being so miserable where I am weather wise.
