Not sure about these ACS modifications. Looks a bit too aftermarket for me, especially the front and wheels, although the rear looks ok. £4k for a tuning box and £3.3k for an exhaust back box both seem a bit steep!

I wish Joe would stop going on about how this retains the BMW warranty - this simply is not true. ACS offer a 3 year warranty to run alongside the BMW offering; however, BMW do not warrant these so if you have an issue post fitment you can’t simply pop to your local retailer to have it fixed under Manufacturer’s warranty.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkdBMud00_k
It is an important distinction which reviews should be clearer on.

Semantics. ACS has been affiliated, sold by and endorsed by bmw for about 35 years. Tell the judge given it’s sold new from bmw with the AC parts at a very hefty price. Just as well there don’t seem to be any issues.
Agreed - I just find it disingenuous given they are no longer endorsed by BMW Uk JackReacher said:
I'm also not ready to go full electric in the household yet, I like the sound of a good petrol engine too much!
Me too - if I'd been sensible I'd have got a 330e but the main reason I went for the M340i was because I think it's very likely to be my last hurrah with a decent petrol engine! I intend to keep it for the duration of the G2x model cycle (so probably 7 years or so) and by then I think 6-pot petrols could well be a thing of the past....Managed this on a very tedious drive from Norfolk to Derbyshire yesterday.
Mostly single lane A roads, lots of freight traffic, and the wife and mother in law onboard, meant that opportunities to stretch it's legs were very limited!
Even so, 40mpg from a 3l petrol that's only done 1000 miles is very impressive.
On the plus side, once the return leg is done the run in period will be finished and then I can have some fun!

Making diesel utterly pointless.
That is great and gives me confidence re changing my car next year however I cannot say on 25k a year Diesels are utterly pointless.Going up to Leicester recently from London In my f30 330d I got 61 mpg...What interests me with big petrol mpg which never gets mentioned is fast motorway journeys all I see is doing 60mph I get x.,....In my car I can drive l ike I stole it on long night journeys and cannot get under 40mpg .I am very sad about the demise of Dieselsmashy said:

That’s good going. We’re you doing 50mph the whole way though? My 430d never averaged over 45mpg over a tank.
oh yes it was raining plus miles of 50 mph ave. speed stuff it was all middle lane eco pro.......but I recently did west london to gloucester at night in 95 minutes 115 miles and that was 42mpg .....obviously in town its different. But on motorways lets say on outside lane keeping up with traffic 50mpg all day long and that is what I would like confirmation on re 3ltr petrols.Edited by smashy on Sunday 18th October 17:09

Anyone who has an 340/M340 and has an average mpg over 30 should hand the car back immediately and buy a 320d instead :-)
You're lucky, I moved from a 440i to a Giulia Quadrifoglio ... Used to get 27mpg average in the BMW, and I struggle to hit 24mpg driving like a saint in the Giulia. It's only done 900 miles so far though. The B58 is an incredible engine - easily gives 10mpg more than the Alfa in all situations. My 440i had the MPPSK, so the same amount of torque as the m340i, and about 10bhp off.
The Alfa engine is an animal though - any gear, any revs and it takes off. If I drove it how I drove the BMW I doubt I'd ever see above 18mpg.

Did you have an m340i on order? Out of interest what was the reason you cancelled for the Giulia? I do like the Giulia, although not driven one, but it seems like a step up in performance and on a par with the M3. Shame they don't do an estate version, and am I right saying that the rear seats don't fold? The B58 is an incredible engine - easily gives 10mpg more than the Alfa in all situations.
