What magical difference do you think their is in connecting at on point over the other? The only issue with connecting at the battery terminals is lack of space.

Personally, on BMW’s - it’s easier and quicker on the under bonnet terminals, and like that 1 series corroded cable connections from the boot to under the car can also be a cause of non start
