It is crazy in that I go looking for the twisty roads knowing it’s going to accommodate - sport plus mode on, windows slightly down, favourite tracks playing on Spotify....

I wouldn't quite go as far as 'chuckable' but it certainly doesn't mind being hustled... I would prefer it on smaller wheels (or if not that, then ones with larger sidewalls) as the wheels do seem to scratch if you so much as look at them - and I'm being ultra-careful..! Also I've found Sport+ far too stiff on most roads, better to set up Individual mode with the suspension in Comfort; Sport+ results in a lot of wheel-skipping as it struggles to keep it in contact with the road. Comfort has a bit more give.

In fact I know it'd be much better without the runflats, I suspect they're a large part of the issue. Perhaps I'm just getting old...!

The m sport tech pack comes with non run flats (bridgestone S007) which look the part and don’t have some of those characteristics others report with the RFT.

It’s not as fussy as modern Aston’s either, and an Aston v a M8 might have me going for the Aston, but I do think it’s one of the best looking cars on the road especially in GC trim.

The cost of going from a 5k to 8k contract was 24.5p per mile.

Depending on what's out there at the time - and whether Leasys decide to go nuts - I'll probably see if I can extend another year or so.

The 2 door 8 series coupe is very good looking, the GC not so much but still OK.

Imo the gran coupe looks better than the coupe, and is infinitely more practical. For such a long car (the 2 door) the back seats are still a waste of time.

Having lived with both, differences in feel behind the wheel are negligible, coupe benefits from better cornering at low speed.

Certainly wouldnt hurt to ask, hard to fathom what the car markets going to look like in 2 years time.... or any other market for that matter :-(

Popped in to Gunwharf Quays yesterday for a few bits (and annoyingly came away empty-handed - guess I'll order online then, should have learned by now...) but it was the first time I became really aware of just how wide the car is! Once-ample barrier entry lanes suddenly looked about 4ft wide. hehe

Also it wouln't really fit in the space, they must've made them narrower since last time I was there...

I have definately had a few occasions where it won't physically fit into a space length-wise too. It seems to have heightened my parking space pickiness two fold - driving into a busy car park with only a couple of spaces between poorly parked zafaris and primeras fills me with dread!

Agree it definitely needs care and attention when parking but it’s like you say it only takes an inconsiderate idiot parked a few inches adrift in the next bay and it scuppers any chances of navigating into the space safely....its the same people who won’t think twice about dinting your door or rubbing your bumper when trying to reverse out of the same space :-(

Anyone else having issues with Spotify? It just came up with a continuous 'loading...' notification so I reset my user profile but when I scan the QR code the car generates to add it it confirms the pairing on the Spotify site on the phone but then the car says 'Spotify currently not available.'. Can't get any further than that with it.

So frustrating as it was working fine and the only reason I upgraded to Spotify Premium in the first place!

Apparently the feature is being depreciated, I would assume due to android auto being added, so will have the opportunity to use Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

I'd be gobsmacked if that's the reason. A lot of people won't want to use AA etc. And why would you remove it prior to enabling AA first? I did read it was depracated but only on iDrive 6.

Also why would the app still be on my car and generate a QR code for me to scan? Surely it'd just be removed entirely if they were getting rid? Feels like more of a Spotify issue than a BMW issue...?

Edit: Just spoke to the Connected Drive team at BMW to try and get them on the case as well. Managed to pop that sodding b-pillar trim off again getting in even though I'm being careful - it's starting to become a feature. I'm going in arse-first but still occasionally catch it with my right shoulder.

Odd issue with the Harmon Kardon in that all the base and treble disappeared completely, tried fiddling with the controls / turn on and off but wouldn't correct itself, almost like a loose connection, next time I used the car it seemed fine, maybe just a software glitch but I'm not sure its back to what it was 100% - I will investigate further..

Right !!! I now can’t inflate my tyres at any garage as the valve will not fit - I now have one tyre dangerously under inflated as the more garages I’ve gone to the more air I’ve lost - seem to recall someone has had the same issue on this post - anyone got any ideas before I call Bmw assist tomorrow :-(((

That was me, only on the on tyres though, the back was OK, I think the valves are shorter on the front. BMW assist was useless, they refused to send someone and wanted to recover it!. AA ca and added air, took about 5 mins.

I have now bought a small compressor from amazon and works fine

thanks

Thanks - thinking about it I’m sure I have a small compressor somewhere so I’ll give it a shot - tried a foot pump and that was useless ..... oh the joy of driving a 70k luxury Bmw ? 😞
