So, after less than 4000 miles of my 24k (pre lockdown) agreement I'm pondering the idea of a replacement for when it hits the 2 year handback. Ridiculously early to think about this but the car I'm looking at is a GR Yaris currently with 12 month plus wait lists.... Would I be mental?! I am loving 'The 8', but curious as to whether the plucky little toyota would be the perfect contrast?!
I think the Yaris would be a hoot but I couldn't go back to a manual daily-driver now.

I might go for the slightly more grown up option (size and comfort wise) of the Civic Type-R. Unless that is they start giving away M550is on silly lease deals that is.

Odd one tonight; car's not been driven for a few days and it's cold here. Popping out tonight I unlocked the car and the interior lights came on but then went off again within seconds. The headlights did the same.

The interior lights turn on manually with the engine running but once turned off they don't come on when opening the door to get out or when the button's pressed. Has anyone else had this?

I'm wondering if it's down to the battery being cold and not having been driven for a while? The car started and drove perfectly though.

I seem to have had numerous issues, from the update, the diff etc, I now have key battery discharged, should a key battery need replacing after 11 months? I understand it's a wear and tear item, but really?

I’ve had to change my battery after a year. It’s not uncommon on a number of cars and different makes, costs about 30p if you buy a job lot of 10 on eBay

I've just had a look and it's a CR2032, which I coincidentally bought two of, to use one for another application, delivered on Friday. Perfect. Thanks.

This appears to have sorted itself after a bit of a run, can only assume it was battery- and temp-related.

Changed this morning, quick and easy to do. Hopefully the error goes away immediately.

Anyone had their insurance renewal for their 840 yet?

Last year BMW insurance was cheapest, but it's gone up about £100 for me with no changes other than another years NCB and the car is a year older and therefore worth less!

Haven't done the usual comparison sites yet, but wondering if anyone else has had an increase on their renewal?

I'm finally doing a reasonable commute again so managed to charge up the battery enough for the software update to kick in.
Android Auto is ok, it is still quite glitchy, it wiped my current tank's fuel economy, which was annoying. Max MPG is now 90.0 which I don't even understand why they would change that. I haven't noticed any noise changes, but I am sure I will.

Insurance renewal is in June, but I think it was coming out a little more expensive than last year, which is understandable, as new car insurance is normally always less expensive than the second year.

My insurance is with BMW at present. Like yourself it was the cheapest for me. However this years it’s gone up by £50. Found cheapest elsewhere with esure at £1450! So good £300 less than BMW

Depending on what happens will see about a on vehicle skim

Thanks
I'm not sure if this relates to your issue but apparently there is going to be a recall on the braking system?

...aaaaaaaaaand still seems to be doing it again intermittently. Oh well. As long as it starts that'll do.

Is this not American vehicles?

I've just checked my reg on the BMW site and it states: There are no open safety related recalls or technical enhancements on this vehicle.

I cleaned mine with break cleaner, then white vinegar and now all good, no further issues. My car is not subject to the recall either

Thanks

The document lists the models effected as the X7 range

All good here after 7000 miles, other than the occasional drop out of bass from the stereo.
