Over 2 months now and still my car hasn't gone through the auction at Manheim. Odd to say the least.
I've always wondered whether this is to do with carefully choreographed release into the market, or simply due to poor organisation/stacked auction houses! Are you hoping to make a cheeky bid (if eligible) or just curious?

Just curious. I do think it's trying to control the market. There are over 20 waiting to go through and the market already has way to many 840 GC for sale at quite a bit less than they should be.

The cheapest buy price I was offered was 46k. I don't think it will get 40k at auction but want to know!

My 8 series has vanished from the Manheim auction site. Assume it's gone through. Going to keep my eye out on the trader

That's what you expect if they basically giving them away new on cheap leasedeals, it obviously hurts depreciation when they fload the market when those deals end.

Although overhere they depreciate quite a bit more than the equivalent 5 series as well. Cheapest one available here is € 79K for a 2020 840i, a similar (age/mileage) 540i can be had for around € 62K. While the listprice diff. between a 540i and 840i was around € 50K in 2020.
Used M850i's start at 100K. M8's start at € 135K all the way up to € 274K for a practically new showroom model.

Not spent much time in my new GR86 yet but I've already realised I've been massively spoiled by the refinement of the 840. I'd say the '86 has a better secondary ride however due to not having runflats and the primary ride is extremely well judged. Road noise is in a different league though!

Found the same with my GTI CS - road noise is way louder and I havent really got used to it!

Hi - just got a brand new 840i Gran Coupe.

Drove it for a week, went abroad and lent it to my brother - now I'm driving it again as I'm back in London.

Upon my return, I've noticed the ride seems bumpier / wobblier than I remember, I'm used to a bumpy ride as I've had lots of BMWs and most recently a G30 530d M Sport on 20"s without Adaptive Suspension.

I feel the bumps / wobble in the seat / chassis, although the steering wheel does vibrate ever so slightly at / above 85 mph.

What was the ride like on your 8s? bow

The ride on my 840i GC with 20" rims and non-runflat tyres is fine.

I'd be shining a torch at the inside of the rims and tyres, struts and general underbody - in case brother accidentally hit a pothole or road debris.

The ride on my LCI 8 seems firmer than my 2019, not quite sure what they've changed. It's not uncomfortable but you do feel the road more.

Wow, that's amazing in the current market! I wonder if any of the lucky 'buyers' will find this thread?!

Blimey, that is tempting! Although they want 12 up front which is chunky and it's a 36mo. Not necessarily deal-breakers at all to be fair.... Hmm..!

If I go for it maybe I'll go for the colour combo I wish I'd gone for with the original lease - I always regretted not getting the tan interior which I think would've looked superb with Dravit.

Works out pretty much the same as I was paying before. I see they were released in Sept last year but its a 23 model year.

I guess they still can't sell them new.
