If you have a CSL now, why not buy a set of genuine CSL rims from BMW?
They are one of the cheapest wheelsets you can buy.

A few years back now, but I paid £997 for a set of 4, that was with a 5% discount on a list of £1050.
Even a set of 3 series 17's were more money.

On Montego Blue I reckon Shadow Chrome or even silver might look better - but it's all a matter of personal preference at the end of the day!

Just to pick up on the offsets, while most sites call it "ET" BMW stamp it on their wheels as "IS".

No, they are getting plenty of love on z4forum in response to someone's wanted advert!

I'm a Z4 owner who is also a fan of them.

Worst thing was that the previous owner (brother) swapped them for MV2 copies, cause they had run flats on them, gutted.

Personally I'm not a fan of reps. I'm sure there are some good ones, but I know there are some bad ones too (understrength, poor corrosion protection).
What colour is your car?
My replica CSL wheels seem to have a decent paint on them and also had a ceramic coat put on top to help. Most corrosion starts from stone or kerb damage which gets left open to corrode. My wheels have a casting mark in them and are cast at the same far eastern factory as the wheels that were standard issue on my Honda, Lotus and Volvo. So, they arent all made in back street factories with poor quality and not as strong. They have to meet a standard. You just pick sensibly from a decent reputable wheel seller.
My MD lost loads of alloys on his 5 series which were original rims and was caused by the use of run flat tyres. Most people contemplating rims , would potentially have binned the run flats . In the end he did more miles commuting the same journey on his replica alloys and non run flat tyres and never cracked another wheel than the originals managed as BMW just didnt want to know and blamed the roads for the wheels cracking.
Happy with my CSL replicas

So style 287's are a staggered set, 8x18 ET34 front, and 8.5x18 ET39 rear.
Style 108's have the same wheel dimensions, but different offsets, namely 47mm front, and 50mm rear.
So putting those dimensions into the calculator says:
Front: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 13mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 13mm more than before.
Rear: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 11mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 11mm more than before.
So as the new Style 287 wheels will protrude more than the old Style 108 wheels, it depends on whether 13mm/11mm is too much & they would foul on the bodywork. Personally I think they'd be fine, but that's your call.
Many thanks for this detailed response.

Do you happen to know what make they are? What size tyres are you running? They look really good.

These are the Riva 18 inch wheels.
I wanted a/ to reuse the 2k mile old tyres already fitted Uniroyal Rainsports non run flats that came with the car b/ more comfort than 19 inch rims.
Sizing is 8.5 X 18 rear et 37 and 8 X 18 fronts ET 34 . Bought from Elite Wheels in Reading and with fitting tyres, 2 coats of Gtechniq wheel ceramic and BMW centre caps with M badges also, was £650 all in, which I was happy with and they fitted them carefully too.

The 18's look great imho, they look plenty big enough and with some sidewall look purposeful as well.

I ran 18's on my M3 CSL on the road, makes the car handle so much better than 19's on poorer surfaces.

Same with my regular M3 as well, that came on 19's but I bout some 18's and the difference is massive, so much nicer.

Riva and atomic both seem to be the popular brand. They certainly suit the car.

They look great and reading is not far from me. I hadnt thought about reusing the tyres on my current 108 18s as I had assumed I was going to be getting 19s but actually that would save a fair amountg of dollar.

Are you 100% happy with the fact you got 18s? Do you ever wish you had gone for 19s?

Do you have any more photos?

19's werent ever on the agenda as the roads are twinned with Beirut round here and with sports suspension on the car , currently with Eibach lowering springs, want comfort over bone crunching appointments.

I'm currently looking at replacing the wheels on my Z4MR, as I have the standard M wheels and I just don't rate them. I've been wanting to put a set of Alpina wheels on mine (softline) but after seeing someone post a pic of their Alpina roadster which is in Carbon-Black like my Z4MR, they have started to grow on me much more.

My Riva DTMs came from Elite in Reading as well, Chris down there will guide you, mine are fitted to my E89 and are 19s, they seem like decent quality and have been fine the 18 months I've had them on ...

Love the look of the wheels on your car, did you use spacers since on the car - I am interested in fitting a set to my E85.
