Hi,

This link:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...

to me seems overpriced but i get it will be a collector's over the years. 1/150 must be good.

My dad has one and I'm considering it too- Love BMWs and i have a 2017 420. I think my dad's 2003 530 is such a better car. It feels better and just is to me.

What would you all pay?

Do we think it'll go UP in value over the years?

Cheers,
Dave.

For that money I'd want utter perfection (and even then I'd be haggling!) Aftermarket head unit, wk arse dials, and other bits and pieces would put me off.

Also it doesn't have folding rear seats (although this may be a fault of the auto complete advert, not the seller) and the N/S front headlight is pointing low suggesting broken adjusters, and being a late car the headlights won't be splittable...

The Head unit actually incites me as I want something a bit more modern than what it's in the 2003 one.

Looks like they did 150 Petrol and 150 Diesel in the Aegean guise.

There’s also some ‘Champagne’ cars for sale. Looks to be 150 of them too, in Petrol form.

How many types of special edition did they do that year ? smile

Interesting to see what state the back seat is in when the child seat is removed. Might explain why it was left in for the photograph.

When people start with the "Appreciating Classic" BS you know they are trying to bend you over.

Needs to be a manual with a full suspension refresh, zero rust and fully cavity waxed etc for anything near that money.

Private seller taking the urine.

We're not at the ten grand E39 yet, unless it's an M5. If someone is asking that it needs ideal 'provenance', to be completely standard, and to have a standout spec. The Agean cars are nice, but not a super rare special edition.

I'm sure someone will love that, and buy it. It looks tidy, and well cared for. The low mileage doesn't sway me though. The E39 can take mega mileages with ease, too. I'm sure some of the common jobs will crop up when it sees a bit more use.

Doesn't quite look like the minter it should be for £10k. Front nearside has seen a bit of action, bumper looks like it is punctured. Interior colour makes it easy to look grubby.
Fabulous cars but no need to spend this much.

ETA - It's a £5k car for me.

I wouldn't be paying that much! For £10k you have a huge choice of potential appreciating cars.
It's a nice clean car, but that's into the M5 range and I appreciate M5 at £10k can be a dangerous gamble but those are appreciating.

Personally I wouldn't pay more than £5k also.

Not keen on the head unit. Plus it's an auto - nowt wrong with autos I have 330 auto. Love mine but they don't tent to appreciate as much as manuals.
I also don't like when they say 1/150. Fair enough it's a limited number cars but then so is every car as no car is made in infinite number.
Feels like being milked for it.

I was also going to say I'd pay around 5 bags, but thought it might be a little rude of me to. The (hopeful) lack of corrosion being the biggest benefit.

Looks nice but way overpriced. Ultimately, it's worth what someone will pay. WBAC, for what it's worth, have it at £1220!

Despite clearly being well cared for, it is over priced.

Very overpriced, hasn't even got electric seats!, a top range 540 is nowhere near as much as 10K.

Less over priced, but over priced none the less. I know some have been after a decent example of these on here....

Nice - Is literally a new car, however 17 years of little use will still age the car.
Again to me that's a £6k car. If you're going to sink £11k into an e46 you should be looking at an M3 IMO.

Lovely looking car, but seems very expensive to me.

If you paid that for it and actually used it you'd just see its value plummet, and if you didn't use it what's the point?

It's been up before

Lovely car; but the grey interior puts a lot of folks off

Low mileage and seems to be well looked after

But it's not a £10k car; realistically, advertise for £7k and take £5500 upwards
