Seen a few with ex demo types with less than 100 miles for around the 70 - 80k price range for what are effectively new cars, are they any good?? Were they just overpriced to start with ?

They were a bit ahead of their time but as a result have been eclipsed by the latest fully electric cars. Something of a modern medallion man image too with a lot being modified of late as the prices fall.

£10k a year depreciation can get you some much nicer cars than an i8.

The I8 is an excellent choice, I have one, purchased second hand two years ago and it’s not depreciated so bad during my ownership. Most people who actually own one and have driven one are very impressed. I don’t think you can go wrong, exceptionally reliable especially compared to my M3. All my experience, I am sure some will disagree.

I bought my wife one a year or so ago. I drive a LP560-4 and I can honestly say I prefer her i8. Best BMW to drive. Had most of the M cars and the i8 is just sharp, direct and an absolute hoot to drive. Good value now, even £50k will get a good one. Can't see them depreciating much more than the early ones now, esp. now the MVision is not to be. Lot of chat ref. this on the fb groups

I’m 6foot 3 and would like a cabriolet version - are the cabins quite spacious ?

No problem, I’m 6ft 1 and there is plenty of room

Yes, great cars. Lots of whingeing on the internet about how they are not super cars and way too expensive new. Both statements are correct but unlike something like an Audi R8, you can easily use it every day for long commutes for very little expense and normal car maintenance....assuming you buy used!

If you get one, subscribe to this guy's youtube channel. Pat knows more about i8's than most dealers!

Directional wheels, the wrong way round! From a main dealer this is shocking! I literally only buy AUC for the warranty

It's hardly the end of the World though is it?, and based on the fact that the i8 also came with non-direction wheels, it makes the grand total of f@#k all difference to the car.

If a main dealer can't spot the wheels are on the wrong way round what else will they miss! Anyway, it's an ongoing joke on the fb groups about the i8

Yes, completely different to be honest. i8 wins as a daily, the Cali is the better car though imo. i8 is more go-cart like. Running costs differ greatly obviously. You have to be a little more conscious where you leave the Cali and we experienced some negativity from joe-public. Never had that in the i8 or the Lambo yet
