BC coilovers now fitted
New centre caps
10mm spacers front and rear
New black wheel bolts

Probably around a 25mm drop at the moment. Happy with that and i dont think it needs to be any lower. Its going in next month for a service so i'll see where its settled to by then.

Well pleased smile

Looks really well with how it sits; perfect drop IMO thumbup

When I fitted coilovers to my previous E38 and E39s; I never dropped them stupidly low; around 30-35mm max; they were perfect then. Could still get over speedhumps etc, but with much improved handling and looks cool

Yes, well pleased with that. Theres maybe a slight lift required in the rear but its only a few mms and i'll get that done when its in getting serviced.

Better pic.

That looks ace from the back, it’s sitting really well.

Annoying about the leaks but they’re not the end of the world and are pretty much inevitable. I need to do the cooler / filter housing gaskets on the 125 but it’s not horrendous so it’ll keep until service time in October.

Thanks smile

Yes, i was getting oil fumes in the car at startup when its sitting a couple of days, so pleased its something relatively straightforward. Can endure it for another few weeks, then i'll get the suspension adjusted if i need it done, those couple of wee leaks, and get it serviced.

Really need to settle myself with it and get the car settled down. It has not been a cheap couple of months.

Yup; had that with my previous E39 530i Sport

Lowered a touch too much on the rear at first; but that was with the sills parallel to the floor, but because the alloys/tyres were a bit wider than OEM, there was a slight rubbing. Raised 3mm (used a 3mm allen key to get the gap perfect); the car sat perfectly then with no further rubbing smile

Looks good, did you fit them yourself?

X5 is back in to the Specialist to get the waterpump done. Asked him to do the pulleys, tensioner etc as well. Hopefully will be done tomorrow...got the C-Max courtesy car again!

I didnt, no. Could have if i put my mind to it, but flat out work at the minute, so need to have the weekends to unwind.

Not helped by the fact i've a really good BMW indy just up the road from me (literally within walking distance if needs be) so its all too easy just to drop it up to him.

Gardening weather. E91 used for 2x tip runs. Estate practicality FTW

X5 still with the Specialist to have its work done so still have the C-Max on the drive. Next door neighbour (jokingly) asked if I've run into financial difficulties. hehe Told him that unfortunately the NHS is making austerity cuts in light of Covid.

Lovely. cool

I'm a big fan and I have those on the 370Z. I also have Pilot Super Sport on the M4...I'm a Michelin fanboy it seems! biggrin

They are great tyres I reckon. I swapped the Michelin Primacy 3(they are crap for a Michelin tyre for some reason though) that were on my Cooper S to Michelin PS4 and they completely transformed it for me.

Spent yesterday trying to diagnose a light metallic rattle under load, approx 3k- 4k on my e61 525i

Car up on axle stands, kid holding engine revs and me underneath.

All I could hear was engine noise though...but think the rattle sounded more rear half (so prop shaft carrier bearing) than gearbox end (manual 6 speed box)

Tried waggling prop shaft, but it needs exhaust and a bunch of stuff removing really...one for another day.

Get car back down and now have abs, DTC and brake warning lights all bonging at me!

I suspect I've confused it. Hopefully taking it for a drive will make the car remember the wheels do all turn at the same time when it's on the road.

Mine st itself when I jacked up the rear end to run it in gear so I could listen for a diff whine. All the lights cleared by themselves with a quick drive up the road.

Passed its MOT!

Pleased about that. Has been a little bit uphill with this 630i in terms of getting things sorted so thats a bit of a milestone.

Things for July :-
  • Service
  • Rocker cover gasket
  • Raise the rear suspension a few mm
  • Get a 4 wheel alignment done.
And also ordered a higher quality gloss black grille from a recommended german supplier after the cheap assed ebay one i bought broke up when fitting (not that it ever looked like it was going to "fit").

Some corrosion around the drivers door mirror base (aluminium) where it fits on to the door, so thats a mirror off, sand down and respray it. I'll do the chrome bits on the side repeaters black at the same time.

Will order a new rear BMW roundel for the boot also. The one on it looks scruffy.

And that should - hopefully - be it. After that it should just be general ongoing wear and tear.

Running PS4s on my touring also and I'm massively impressed by them TBH

They're so much better, for me, in 17" sizes I'm running that they were in 18s I had on some previous Style 37s... That extra bit on the sidewall makes a lot of difference!
