If you only need a couple of litres for top up purposes, best I've found is Tesco - usually very cheap and mine uses less of it than the posh stuff from petrol stations - yes the £30 per litre stuff.
I bought some Tesco own brand oil that claims to meet LL04 for my car. It was a couple of years ago but it worked out at £9 per litre!

EBC get some bad vibes but these Racing RP-1 rear pads have been uber good on the M140i for track work. Easy to swop out.

From chatting to track folk, EBCs track pads seem to be well thought of... But their 'street' pads are utter crap IMO

I used to use yellowstuff on my M3, a good road pad with no downsides that i could tell.

Got the E34 out for a run today only to find a low coolant alarm and a puddle. I traced the leak to the auxiliary water pump and dug out an old spare that had the outlet connector broken short. I disassembled the spare to find an ‘o’ ring around the pump bowl that might be the culprit on the car and then mixed and matched bits to make one good non-dribbling pump. Warmed the car back up and it all seems ok and tight, and I also measured the o ring to order some spares- 40mm inside diameter and 2mm x section if anyone is interested.

We used to remove those and give them a distance test. If all else fails they can be removed altogether and the heater still works fine. I've still got a couple on the shelf from the good old days but I wouldn't fit one now.

Took advantage of the final day of the 20% off offer by ordering new front and rear roundels for the X5.

Paid to get the MMI unit fitted. Takes 20 minutes max when you know what you're doing and what goes where. I'm liking Android Auto so far.

MOT day for the old shed this morning. In for the first test of the day at 07:00. On the ramps by 07:10, brew in hand. 45 minutes later…

Bloody lovely. Circa 15,600 miles this year. A little low, but I spent 3 months unemployed and trying not to do too much driving.

The front tyres I knew are getting grizzly, but my winter wheels are going on in a few weeks so no worries until spring. In spite of my grinding and painting, the subframe is still looking a little tired. I’m still amazed at the life from the front brakes. They were last replaced 104,000 miles ago, and are still half worn.

This might be its last test but we’ll see. Bodywork is getting tired, underside a little rusty and all of the boring other old car st. 96,000 miles with me now though, and hopefully we’ll get a few more good trips in the the next 13 months.

Just ordered a front ride height regulator rod from Syntner for l my 335d. The broken part was noticed at a Service Check art a main dealer. The pivot joint at the sensor has probably seized, then snapped the rod. £25 including delivery and a few spare bits and bolts, just in case.

F31 jacked up, onto axle stands, each corner cleaned and then the winter wheels (18" 397s with Goodyear Vector Gen3 all seasons) fitted - it's forecast to lash it down here from tomorrow onwards and then temps start to drop again; so the right time to do it

Finally got ProNav installed and coded into my F30. The sound quality over WiFi (compared to Bluetrash) with the Harman Kardon is superb, such a great upgrade.

The CarPlay screen doesn't look blotchy like that in person. The camera has just picked up some weird artefacts for some reason.

Thats a good job RE: the carplay screen!

I loved HK in my BMWs. Its pretty much a must have IMHO compared to the standard system. It is sensitive to file format though. I'd a USB drive full of music and i always tried to get .FLAC files as they sounded so much better through the HK.

Took my 2nd set of wheels to Halfords for a set of new All Season Jeremiah's, a 7 Series with cream leather really isn't the right car to transport 5 x wheels (including my full size spare) but managed to get three on the back seat and two in the boot..

Fitted a fixed and working MkIV nav unit to my E39 that has the latest 2019 CD and it works laugh Very laggy but it works; but it also means the screen looks more modern in comparison to the standard TV module

Glad to have it all working now; plus the Bluetooth 12v plug in adapter works superbly and it's very clear for calls/people hearing me and music playback from my iPhone; so no need to spend £135 on the Grom Audio BT3 kit
