I've got a puncture. Luckily parked on the drive. Pumped it up and it went down again over night. I Will shop for two 275/35 R19 Tyres when I get back from holiday. Currently have 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S and will replace with those or the Ps5.
I think I'm one of the few that don't rate the PS5s as mush as the PS4s and the PS4S are, IMO, much better than the PS5s

Absolutely loved them on my previous 130i and would absolutely have them again

Camskill had them at a great price when I got mine; might be worth a look
I’ve seen quite a few people saying the ps5 are worse for noise and grip than ps4

Speaking of tyres, E91 needs tyres.

Going to ditch the RFTs and have decided to try Goodyear Vector All Seasons.

Bring on the winter snow!
Lovely stuff; superb tyres. On both my E39 and our F31 now

Wouldn't run any other tyre for UK winters personally; they do what they need to do very well indeed

Check Asda Tyres & Halfords as they had some good deals on recently; if not see what price Camskill have them at
15% off at Blackcircles. I needed them urgently (getting fitted Saturday morning).

It'll be interesting to see how they compare to the Cross Climates I used to have on E36 and the SUV version I have on the X5 currently.

yeah - after many years on PS3 then PS4s, last set I moved to Goodyear F1 assym.
No regrets - grippy wet or dry, quiet, comfy and fantastic value. I'm about 9K miles in to a full set, tread left c5mm (and even) all round.

I'll go for same again a year or two's time.

That's what I found; they droned, grip was nowhere near as good in the wet or dry and all in, they weren't all that

I replaced them with Michelin CC2s and even though they're all seasons, they were miles better

I really rated the CC2s I had on my 130i - but for me, the Goodyears do it just that bit better - better grip in the dry; as good in the wet - but never got chance to test the CC2s in really cold temps, whereas the F31 did superbly in The Highlands late last year and earlier this year on the Goodyears

They're superb tyres also - rated them massively on the summer alloys I had for the F31 (which I've just sold) as decided to stick with the Goodyear all seasons all year round now for that car

Depending on which alloys I get for summers on my E39; I'll be looking to fit the Assym 6s if I can

I replaced my PSSs on the M2 Comp with some F1 Super Sports and find them miles better in terms of turn in and grip. I always found the PSSs a bit sketchy when getting anywhere near the limit of adhesion, which seemed to make itself known far earlier than with the Goodyears.

Thank you smile It's such a good car; we're really glad we bought it rather than the lesser spec'd 330D we test drove too. It was xDrive that put me off that one, just felt wollowy in comparison. And TBH a dark blue outside and black inside wasn't nice IMO

I've done a lot to our F31 but it's been worth it; very well future-proofed

Dropped my E39 off with my pals on Friday for them to do the brakes work on Monday; in a see of Jap cars biggrin

I'm in hospital all day for a few invasive scans; so left it with the and will collect it in a few days; it's getting all new brake lines all round inc. the x2 small ones from the ABS pump, Motul RBF600 brake fluid flush & refill, x2 new rear brake calipers (because I've got them in my parts box and they're already painted silver, tweaked handbrake and steering wheel as it's slightly off still after the front end arms refresh and alignment

I'm hoping to get the shocks swapped over soon after I've got it back; the rear top mounts should land with me tomorrow; I've got everything else.

Just need to set up my new vice and then I'll do a corner at a time...

eBay have 10% off currently up to £75 off and TopCashBack have 3.15% cashback on eBay Motors FYI - eBay code is VROOM10

So just ordered all new Febi Bilstein rear arms for my E39

Might as well do them seeing as I'm going to be doing the rear shocks etc

X5 is fixed - no longer leaking oil (oil cooler and oil cooler piper replaced) and no more 4x4 failure messages on the dash (replacing the wheel bearing sorted it).

E91 now has a new set of Goodyear all season tyres.

While I have never tried PS4S I cannot fault the PS5's on my 428i. Quiet, grippy and lasting incredibly well. They were fitted in Feb 2023 on 43,200 miles and still have good tread now on 66k miles. Mostly motorway/A-Road and short journeys and I rarely lean on them too heavily so YMMV. I did come from the stock Pirelli runflats which were atrocious though. They've survived two Scottish winters too.I suspect they may need replaced come MOT in Feb.
