Anyone used these wheels (or similar) before? Impressions?
Not those wheels; but used BMAutosport a number of times and they've been superb and zero issues with the wheels I had

Thank you! I'm thinking of getting a set in 19 inches (down from 20") for my G31 and perhaps run Cross Climates or just a go-flat summer tyre. Need to think about colours, I am between a bright silver or a matte bronze but not too yellow.

A friend of mine bought a set of 18 inch CSL's from there and they were sound.

I bought my CSL reps from CM Wheels.

Silver would look superb IMO; and personally i'd go for a straight set of 19s all round, same size and go for either Goodyear Vector Gen3 all seasons or the Michelin CC2s or CC3s - see what prices Camskill have them at

The only thing with BMAutosport is that their tyre prices tend to be on the expensive side; I have in the past ordered my tyres from Camskill; had them sent to BMAutosport; they've fitted them and then shipped them all to me, for a fee obviously

Noticed on Saturday that one of the Z4 rear parking sensors was a little skew-wiff.

My brain said "don't touch it"
My finger touched it
It went further into the bumper

(that's not a scratch, it was just a mark that wiped off)

So it became a bumper off job to get to the back and click it back into place.

Pretty sure they're not OEM sensors, which is odd because the VIN checker thing says it had PDC in the spec.

Anyway, might as well clean behind there once it was off.

Then like a numpty, I forgot to get an after photo boxedin

Drove the 530i what I thought was a puddle, that turned out to be a lake, that then turned into a tsunami when a bus decided to plow on through.

After waiting 7 hours to recovery, getting towed home, then removing the plugs and fortunatley it still cranked.

A few nerve wrenching first starts, which resulted in poor idle and no throttle control.

Though for some reason, after unplugging the MAF it fired straight up.

Fingers crossed for no lasting damage done.
Did you get any further with this? It running with no MAF is a good sign, suggesting an air leak or that one of the sensors is bad. Contrary to common belief, improved idle with the MAF unplugged doesn't mean that the MAF is bad (although it's possible), it just means that the ECU runs with a fixed map so it's much less sensitive to various inputs.

I'd start by having a good check around for any air leaks as that would cause a very poor idle if it's significant enough, and you'd see a big improvement in idle with the MAF disconnected.

Good luck!

Not mine but I did have a go in a 116i race car Saturday. Surprising amount of fun for something relatively slow!

Spent the rest of the time in a GT4 with absolutely no chance keeping up with this being driven by Chris Harris laugh

I love driving slow cars fast and a proper LSD in a 1 series can be great fun. I'd love a 1 series coupe with an S54, Ohlins and an LSD as a modern take on an E30. I took a 1M for a few laps at Brands Hatch and was reminded of the E30 M3 I'd arrived there in. I think a modified 1 series could provide 9/10ths of the fun for a chunk less cash.

This is a hatch but you get the idea...

Anyway, I'm waiting to hear from Rally Prep so I can bring the E30 home. smile

Funnily enough I was chatting with my mate while we were there about replacing our Clio track car when the time comes, there was a few nice 1 series coupes there that caught our attention.

It was my first time there, fantastic circuit, really enjoyed it and I'll 100% be returning! The GT4 was epic, I've never been into Porsches but it was faultless. I done 150 miles of battering it round the track and it was perfect. Aside from some decent discs and pads it's stock, made me look like a much better driver than I am too I think.

It was also my first time on a track at night which was really cool too!

That looks proper cool at night; Anglesey is home from home for us. My folks used to have a property just round the corner in Rhoscolyn, before selling it and buying their property in the Highlands in 2010

I'd head to the track every time we were there just to see what's what; good fishing just round the corner too, some really deep water off some of the rock ledges biggrin

Used to frequent the Oyster Catcher too; it went downhill a bit though and we haven't been since before lockdowns etc

My pals that have Grinspeed up here have a lot of clients that go to Anglesey Circuit; as they do themselves. Hoping to get down there this year with them, health allowing!

I am of course biased but the E8x range has a brilliant little chassis imo. Great out of box - if a little feisty when it gets bumpy - and I'm told a few fairly simple mods turn it into a fairly effective fast road/track car.

I prefer it to drive to the E36 and especially the E46 I had before it - planted on the road like the 46, but as agile as the 36.

Although mine did nearly give me a heart attack yesterday - put the key in the ignition and got the yellow battery warning...think it was a mixture of cold weather and a couple of short trips in it.

Had a look on Carly after it started and the battery voltages were nudging 15V, but they're a bit lower today. Battery is 5 years old so should still be OK, but will keep an eye on it.

Rear interior all buttoned up after the few days of work my pals have put into it fitting the Bilstein B14 coilovers, and a few other bits and then the full set up

I've also fitted these Fosgate speakers into the speaker pods in the rear of the E39; they fit perfectly with bags of room, just needed to use 2 small self tapping screws in 2 of the fittings as they didn't line up to the original holes

Removed the last sign of any chequer plate from the E30 and serviced the fuel system. Also had new MAF and service.

Swapped out the tiny 5 litre tank for something more useful.

Yep, Anglesey is well up there in my top UK circuits. It flows well and I dig the Coastal layout. Anglesey Island is also such a bona place.

Ah quality! I've never been until November for the Race of Remembrance, beautiful area but a bit remote for me. Oyster Catcher was so so, nothing to write home about but reasonable, there was 10 of us so there wasn't much choice for venues!

I'm 100% going to take my Clio there for a track day there this year.

Well obviously I didn’t mean to but somehow I ended up doing this…

FAFO

Luckily a very good friend took time to talk a panic stricken me through a recovery process using a CD he prophetically left with me almost a dozen years previously.

Phew.

She survived, I only needed to unplug the MAF to get it to restart after removing the plugs, as the DME was recording;

DME -> 08/B1 - Air mass flow sensor signal, short circuit to positive

Once it started I reconnected the MAF and it's been all good since.

Took the car to my local specialist this morning to give it a once over and they gave her a clean bill of health bar a weaping radiator drain valve, which is now on order and will be replaced on my next visit.

I also treated the 530i to a set of new speakers front and rear, though opted for some Pioneer TS-A1371F

Fitted the rears last night and they fit and sound perfect.
