Hi,

Does anyone know what bluetooth receiver I need to attack to the back of the standard CD/radio in my E85 Z4? And where I can buy one?!

Thanks

May be something like a GROM or similar?

As per another very recent thread (albeit in an E46); if you've the CD changer and don't use it / happy to not use it, the Grom Audio BT3 kit is about as good as you can get and works superbly with the OEM install and steering wheel etc... Sounds very good too and no interference like all other Bluetooth adapters that you'll get, bar the Amazon one that plugs into the CD changer wiring (but that has no hands free capabilities)

Thanks all. That’s really useful. Any tips for how to ensure they work with the existing hands free system for the car?

The Grom unit will; the Amazon one won't IIRC

The Grom unit is plug n play; but worth emailing them to see what they recommend. They're great to deal with and will be back to you very quickly

Me to stream music from Spotify too?

Apparently so.

Just to round up this thread as well, the Amazon one does let you use all the wheel controls etc, but it doesn't do calls. Personally I like it more than the Grom, fraction of the price, and no-one can bother me while I'm driving!

Get that thumbup I have my Pixel 4XL set to not receive calls when I'm driving (well; it gives me a simple notification rather than ringing); but it's still a handy feature to have etc...

Plus the Grom kit is plug n play, which means it's easy to remove too and they retain their value, so an idea for when anyone has installed it, they can remove it and sell it on if they sell their car etc
