I need to replace both front brake discs on my 2017 335d Xdrive due to a wobble under braking. Looking at the discs available there's the obvious Brembo option but are there any other options you guys would recommend that may be better value? It is fitted with the M Performance brakes from factory.

Thanks.

I've just got some Meyle discs and pads as recommended by a friend from https://www.c3bmw.co.uk/ These were for a 320D though. Cost for front and rears including sensors was £235 so reasonable value I think?!

ATE, Jurid, Textar and Galfar/Galfer are all OEM and make the discs & pads for BMW

You'll also get the 2 piece Brmbo discs frokm the likes of eBay/Eurocarparts etc (avoid Brembo pads IMO, ste at best and very dusty)

If you work your way around www.realoem.com and get the necessary part numbers; you can search with those on eBay UK and Autdoc and go for your choice of discs/pads

However, always worth speaking to BMW as their prices can be very good at times

But you've said that your cars wobbling under braking; this is generally to do with pad deposits left on the disc face that need to be removed 9heavy/safe braking will do this); have you tried that first and are you sure that all your suspension is in rude health?

Worth checking all this before you replace your brakes (unless they need to be replaced due to them being worn to minimum etc)

Mine has the same. Heavy braking has not cleared the issue, I am resigned to replacing discs and pads. My issue came about after little use during lockdown, and then salt caked roads on its first regular outings. Prior to that the brakes were very good. Mine has M sport brake sizes.

Deffo get the suspension checked over; especially the tie roads/track rod ends... Unfortunately you can't really see that they've failed until you remove them

Same with the main thrust arm ball joint etc

Fingers crossed it is just discs/pads; but always worth double checking

Get a new set of pads. They will wear the deposits off eventually. In my case it was 4 weeks of gentle pottering around town. The key to removing pad material deposit is abrasion at low temperatures, so no hard breaking as that will only accelerate pad material transfer. Genly does it. Patience required. If you want to speed things up get more abbrasive brake pads

Is there a visible lip on the disc and what’s the thickness? I test drove a 335d recently where the discs were worn and it exhibited the same symptoms as your car. It’s worth checking all of the above.

Your discs will be 370 mm front and 345 mm rear.

I got some Denso fronts from GSF which were cheap as chips and haven’t broke yet. Paged pads .
