Please HELP!, I have a 1990 M3 which is slightly sick when starting from cold and only when left over night or all day and it’s frosty or very cold.

When the car is started from cold it fires first time but 2-3 sec’s later it has a very rough idle. When the throttle is blipped a couple of times the fault clears and a cold idle is achieved. This only happens when the car has been left over night or while I’m at work.

If the weather is mild there are no fault’s, can anyone please help?

try changing the coolant temp sensor ( the blue one on the coolant rail) also try the fuel pump relay ( behind the plastic bulkhead panel - these will give minor problems long before they pack up completly.
