A friend is thinking about getting a Z8. 'Future classic', 'Zero depreciation', 'BMW quality and reliability', etc. etc. Does anyone have information/thoughts that might help? Thanks.

Friend of mine had one. First off, they're bloody quick They do depreciate, and I am not sure they will be future classics - but they only sold about 80 last year IIRC so they will never be common. My friend used his for his daily commute and it never seemed to have any major problems. He also drove it for the first 3 months without ever pressing the sport button (which sharpens the throttle mapping) and it was only when I enquired about it he noticed it

I testdrove it once. It's very quick and has loads of grip, but the best thing about it, is the sound. It's unbelievable. If I had the money, I'd go for it* - but I haven't

*or maybe 2 LHD Tamoras

IIRC the press thought it was more of a GT than a sportscar...

Yes, I have to agree with an earlier post about future classic status and depreciation. It isn't and it will. Your friend should buy it because he loves it, plain and simple.
