Lovely and so nice to see one that isn't black or a shade of grey.
Yes, and that red is a good red too.Sadly they only offer shades of grey or black for the interior - unless you want leather which makes no sense as it is easier to produce coloured textiles than coloured leathers.
E46M3 owned since 2007 (2004 model) SMG - never gone wrong although do avoid 'improving' the system with later software!! Had a DMF and clutch under warranty at 50k miles (clutch barely worn).
Took it from 20k miles to 108k miles in my ownership (so far) and loved every one of them. Summer use only since 2008 approx. Still reliable enough for long tours across the good bits of the EU.
Stuff I've done:
Refurb on all brake components and painted calipers (black) 2015 including flexi-pipes. New discs and pads all round for only second time at that point. Just replaced bushes springs and shockers all round . The diff bushes and subframe bushes, plus rear brake lines were done 2014 with axle carrier panel replacement under BMW goodwill.
Oil and filter changed every 7500 miles in addition to FSH. Valves done every inspection 1 and 2. Vanos filter and fuel filter at both inspection 2's so far. About to have second seal kit on diff (warranty again both times) due to slight leaks. Alternator and power steering hose only other bits that went (warranty).
Alloys were refurbed by Lepsons in 2014 and still look great (I think winters kill them).
Not depreciating anymore is a bonus but I'm not selling this ever.

@ Davidonly - Lovely M3 you have there. I can see why you'd never want to sell.
When I first saw the i8 I wasn't all that taken to be honest. Having seen a few now though and with a bit of time passing, I am starting to really like them. I sat next to one in traffic the other day and I'd never realised how good they sound. I think this looks great in white too!

So after a brief flirtation with a VW i am very happy to be back in a BMW again!
My new 330d Touring, alpine white with coral red interior. my first diesel, my first estate and my first automatic... i must be getting old!
Loving the grunt, the gearbox is amazingly accomplished, especially in sport mode... an i've just discovered launch control!

Mark & Richard, thanks
I too think that the blue highlight work particularly well on the white i8. I'm normally not keen on white cars, but the i8 has a lot of black that breaks up the white, so it works well.
It's the same with the interior. I went for white, as there is a lot of black breaking it up, and blue highlights of course.

I've never been a 'must have' fan of the brand but dawned on me last week that three of the darn things appeared to be in the home fleet!
Junior LFB - He traded up to this from a Mk4 Golf and loves it to bits, totally standard, not daft to insure and cheaper to maintain than the VW which always seemed to need something doing.
Mrs LFB - Bought this 2.2 as a Summer only second car about five years ago, been great fun but not going to be used this year so sold it at the weekend.
And finally my uber barge 650, bought earlier in the year with a trip to Le Mans next week in mind (big boot!) and so far, very impressed.
All good, even if they do appear to be breeding!
