They've always been well-proportioned, I think. Later models are easily made to look a bit daft with smaller wheels, but the E36 always seems to look well-balanced.

I did consider getting an E36 after my first E46, but given my reasons for changing car I was put off by the scathing Euro NCAP review.

Another month, something else decides to break. I wonder whether a 18year old, 90k Car is a good idea 😂

This time the power steering pump has given up the ghost. Typically I bought the wrong pump, and didn’t have the right tool to take off the fan to give me more access.

The lovechild of my stable. (M135i and black XC90!)

The thought of having a good family hack with the performance of my fun daily strangely appeals. Watched a Joe Achilles YouTube driving one of these and he was astounded at how good they were.

My 328i sport.

Two previous owners... First being 70s McLaren driver Howden Ganley (not that I had heard of him before I bought the car!)

Nikasil engine yet uses less oil than my last steel liner 328i!

I had almost identical one to this, my first BMW. Lovely engine and joy to drive. Mine fell to bits though. smile

Nice, very very nice - sadly my husband's right foot excludes us from any models above our current E46 320d! With time and patience, we will be looking for something very similar to this.

My Manual 335i... just ticked over 21K miles

After getting itchy feet a month or so back I decided to give her a treat in the form of some new genuine 269 Motorpsort wheels!

Happy again!

Bit of an odd one, hadn’t even considered buying a car last week but after being told we couldn’t replace our Leon 184 with another due to WLTP we looked around.

My good lady wife had a 2006 1 Series 1.6 petrol a few years back and despite its basic trim and weedy engine, she loved it.

She has wanted another since it went back so I went looking. She didn’t want white, black, grey, blue or silver, so that left red.... or orange.

Had to be an M Sport (my choice) and a decent engine. Found this close by, got a half decent deal (I would have liked better but it’s 1 of 1 available in the country.

Here's a couple of shots of my M135i
Totally delighted with the car, it's so understated and yet so bloody quick. I love it.

I swapped my M135i for this 520d SE a few months ago, 10,000 miles on I’m surprised to say I’m enjoying the 5 series more. The M135i is much more fun when you’re in the mood, but the 5 series is just so competent, it’s more enjoyable extracting the best from it.

Hello

I found my car looking like this on Tuesday.

Now I don't know if this was mindless vandalism or a theft attempt - if theft then I'm obviously wandering if they were disturbed or if they just didn't manage to take my car due to whatever updates I've read about from BMW - which totally confuse me basically.

Its a BMW 2009 E91 335i - 2nd pic.

So this is just a reminder that thieves are still active [although maybe not so competent] with these 9 year old cars - which surprises me.

Ah that's sucks. Easily fixed though and nothing taken so don't dwell on it.

A friend of mine (old lady in her 70s) heard a bang ouside her front door only to go out an find her car window smashed...on her driveway, 20 meters from a very quiet road with not a soul in sight.

We think it may have been something dropped from a seagull as we cant think of another explanation.

Autoglass are going to replace it as a priority ... which means a few days.

I was wandering if it could be a golf ball / air rifle / whatever but the area of glass removed looks suspicious as it is near to the obd port socket.

Same here, love the older cars and would automatically be drawn to an E30 or an E46 over the modern day equivalent. Probably due to the rarity of seeing them these days and the fact that theres so many modern BMW's on the road. If only the older cars where practical enough to use as a daily
Hi Jon biggrin

I agree with the above too.
They ARE practical to use as a daily. I've had nothing but E39s for years now. There's been the odd big-ish bill, but the cost amortised across the mileage I do in them is peanuts. They're also INFINITELY more likeable - and in some ways demonstrably objectively better - than anything BMW has made in the last decade...
