I only went into the dealer to drop my Mrs off so she could pick her car up from a service.....

I’ve previously had an F10 M5 which was a fairly quick if not rocket ship type car....I’ve only done 450 miles so far but fk me this feels like it has so much to give yes

The urge even only feathering the throttle is simply awesome and the sports exhaust with its crackles and pops on downshifts cloud9

Looking forward to the 1200 mile service so I can go above 5000 rpm and explore a tiny bit of its potential.

The best daily in the world.......?

I think so yes

I'm scared of going down to the dealers. I had to drop a colleague off, next thing I know I'm in the new Z4, considering a M40i.

My current Z4M battery is due to be replaced, and needs coding, so I'll be down there again and a cheeky M2 has caught my eye when I drive past it on my commute.

I fear I may have a new toy for summer!

Your M5 looks grand.

Quite possibly - only because they don't do a Touring version.

I would say the same and think the M5 Touring is just incredible. Ive always wanted one.

But - I had the opportunity to buy a good one a year or so ago and didnt in the end. So if a massive fan of estates in general (have had 5) and the M5 in particular, didnt buy one when they could, I guess you can understand why BMW havent built one this time....

Are you sure it does?

My E91 325i and E86 3.0Si batteries didn't need coding after working for over a decade - just my E87 with the moronic stop/start nonsense and the "wondrous" AGM battery that didn't last 5 years. £300+ at Sytner, just over £250 at an Indy. eek Progress my a*se. banghead

No, as it happens! I've read they do, and they are AGM in the M's due to the location/drainage. Although people have been known to use non-AGM batteries.

I also fitted charger crimps to the battery and disconnected both cables, when I cabled it in, it was fine, so no coding.

The battery has lasted maybe 3 days and lost a lot of charge, so either a fast drain, or more likely, the battery.

I've found a AGM Bosch for £140, so not the end of the world. But the 182 just had a new batt too!

That colour really suits the E46 Coupe shape!

Looks like it's pretty clean and standard, what are the specs? Do you have any future plans for it, or are you just going to enjoy it as is?

I recently managed to finish off a few small cosmetic jobs on my Z4M and while the weather was nice, took a few pics with the roof down.

It's really hard to take a pic of the car, where you are able to see the blue tones in the Carbon Black paint scheme. I think I managed it in my last pic. I have been taking pics using the camera on my iPhone X, which cause the pics to lack the colour and crispness of a proper camera/Samsung camera phone.
