My relatively new (to me) F31 D3, just had an interim oil service completed. Needs a clean!

That's lovely. What number?
Sorry I missed this, it is #002 - I understand it was the first UK F31 touring.

Cheers
Spent 6 months looking for one of these in the right spec, stunning car
Cheers, I think I just got lucky with timing, I was surprised how many didn’t have Pro-Nav! I ended up compromising on the colour for the spec, I would have loved Alpina Green or Alpina Blue, or Grey with contrasting tan/brown interior.

Off the top of my head mine has pan roof, pro nav, enhanced blue tooth, high-beam assist, reversing camera, 20 inch wheels, folding mirrors, shadow line gloss black exterior trim, privacy glass, detachable tow bar, black headlining, silver leather edged Alpina floor mats, silver leather Alpina stripes on the headrests and silver stitched steering wheel.

I also wanted a sub 60k mile example to enable me to put a BMW warranty on the car, unfortunately BMW warranty seem to put Alpina models in the same price bracket as M cars!

Thankfully it had discs and pads all round and 4 x new Michelin PS4S tyres earlier this year, which saved me some £££’s.
Found exactly the same thing with the Pro Nav, and it looks so wrong without it

Mine was a mad rush to spec, decided to go with one, phoned Sytner at 11 in the morning and they had a build slot available as they were about to spec their demo, the only issue was cut off time was 2 the same afternoon so it was a mad panic to get it sorted.

If you're ever considering selling let me know

Wife's i8. Bought in April to replace her M4CP. Didn't expect to like it but it's the most fun I've had in a BMW

Looks so sleek in black. Always liked the e61
Thanks! Although it's called Carbon Black it is actually a very very dark blue in the right light:

You're not helping me with my dilemma of buying the 545i that's up for sale at the minute. I need a larger car, as both my current ones are fairly impractical (have you seen 4 grown men in a clio?!).

In fact, here is a link so someone else can buy it before I get around to it!

I've got the 550 which has a 50 bhp more but the 545 is a good car. My 550 feels pretty solid to me but it is a little tired in places. These cars are now 14 years old remember. Mine is a 55 reg. This is how it looked when it was new.

Me too Tonk68, and I couldn't find one so ended up ordering new - D3 number #242, in F31 guise too of course. Settling for a D5 must have taken some of the pain away!

Good taste CB987, I went for Mineral Grey with Saddle Brown interior (top of dash in black). Went a bit crazy with options as it was my first new car (first BMW in fact) and it will be a keeper....pan roof, pro-nav, HUD, Limited Slip Diff, Harman Kardon, LEDs with high-beam assist, and 20 inch wheels too (obviously).

You could say that, it’s one of one, the only RHD one they made.

No, just off the EVO triangle when I used to live near there - I have enjoyed the car over Exmoor way though.

For info really, of the BMW 5 series estates made into Alpina cars these are the UK rhd numbers ordered vs total numbers of Alpina's of that type made;

E34 B10 4.0, none of 4
E34 B10 4.6, 1 of 19
E39 B10 3.2, 5 of 72
E39 B10 3.3, 19 of 70
E39 B10 V8, 10 of 204* (pre-facelift)
E39 B10 V8/1, 4 of 44* (facelift)
E39 B10 V8S, 4 of 43
E61 B5, 4 of 119
E61 B5S, 1 of 59

I don't know exactly about the newer F11 cars but of the petrol engined cars I think 6 of 175, and perhaps 1 or 2 G31 cars from 470 produced so far - all in all the big Alpina estates are very rare and exclusive.

  • These are listed seperately as they are numbered seperately by Alpina.

One from this weekend from a popular view point on Woodhead Pass, Peak District - Took the even more scenic route back from Derwent Dam/Upper Derwent Reservoir, well worth a visit...

Yes very very well, the Touring is slightly slower than the saloon with a 0-60 of 3.7 and a 201 mph top speed, that's the beauty of them there is no speed limiter and as I do mainland Europe 3 to 4 times a year it get's used, supremely comfy tourer, just a hugely accomplished car.

Saying all that I've registered an expression of interest in the new B3, should start first UK deliveries last quarter of next year
