Some photos after collecting my car from having a single stage paint correction and ceramic coating and finally got the V5C back from the original owner so I could put my plates on.
I also managed to pick up a second hand genuine M Performance carbon spoiler for £100! Hoping to have that fitted in the next few weeks.
Great job that, some difference I also managed to pick up a second hand genuine M Performance carbon spoiler for £100! Hoping to have that fitted in the next few weeks.

Do you mean Velvet Blue? There are a few E39 M5's in Velvet blue which was an individual colour in the late 90's early 2000's. Violet Blue is a more modern colour I think. What are your guys thoughts on the E93 series convertible?
I had the 4 series convertible last year but sold it for house funds.
Now I’m hankering for a convertible which the family can use as at the moment I just have an MX5 that me and the boy rarely get to use by ourselves for a little run out.
I’ve seen quite a few 325i’s which seem to fit the bill in terms of affordability and nice engine etc but truth be told I’m mildly terrified of owning one that complicate roof, out of warranty....

Have you considered a 228 / 230I cabrio? Rare and clever options, depending on budget. Proper classic soft top roof too, simpler mechanism, very little reported issues, lighter... I spent a long time looking at E93 and ended up spending a bit more to get a more modern example.I had the 4 series convertible last year but sold it for house funds.

No, I know the colour you mean but it’s definitely violet blue (veilchen blau). The only other I’ve seen in this colour was an e36 with ac schnitzer parts that was being sold in the past year or so. Considering these replies I’m guessing it really is quite rare to find one like this. Would love to know how many others are left.
It was one of the 3 standard colours for the E46 330i Clubsport. BFleming said:
The original BMW press release stated Titanium Silver as standard, and two individual colours (Estoril Blue and Velvet blue) for the Clubsport. Most are silver or Estoril; the Velvet Blue is pretty rare.
Iirc Carbon Black was also available.Edited by BFleming on Friday 30th October 16:24

How did you find it? I've never worked up the courage to have a go as fear I will burn through the paint and cause more harm than good! Car is looking fantastic though, love the wheels.Back with an updated pic of my own, spent the last two afternoons thoroughly cleaning the car prior to polishing and waxing by hand:
Very easy mate, id reccomend giving it a go, just make sure you get a Dual Action polisher. Its pretty difficult to cut through the paint, you'd have to press on silly hard and keep it in the same place.
I think i could of done a better job and spent a bit longer, maybe next summer when its worth cleaning lol.

with a dual action polisher, the foam pad would explode before you go through the clear coat.I think i could of done a better job and spent a bit longer, maybe next summer when its worth cleaning lol.
