I used to work at the Park Lane hotel when they were new and remember seeing a dark blue example pull up one evening. (Li version possibly?) It just looked so cool and the soft interior glow from the lighting was pure class. They were pretty special.

I was working for a dealership when they were new. The MD had one as a ‘demonstrator’ (although I don’t remember a great deal of demonstration being done). There were and indeed are a very special thing.

What do you think of it? I am thinking of one next. I have read that they drive well and will do 60mpg+ is this true?

So far, very impressed. Drives nicely on the adaptive suspension. I got an indicated 57mpg on a fairly steady 100ish mile A road run. Not taken it on a longer dual/motorway jaunt yet but I would say 60mpg would be doable on that at a sensible cruising speed. Shorter local runs look more like mid-high 40s. I guess there will have been some tweaks and changes in the years since this one was built which may impact economy one way or t'other.

Can't speak for the 2 Series but I've seen over 60mpg on a long steady run in my 320d. You can get easy 50's all day long pretty much however you drive it

Thanks for the reply’s. I fancy a bmw next as I have never had one. Probably a 2 or 4 series the 2 is more fun from what I have read so edging towards that at the minute.
