Joined the fraternity and picked up this little beauty last week. Not sure if I want to do much to it yet, apart from replacing the interior trim parts for carbon, and I like the alcantara MPerformance dash, if I can find it cheap from somewhere. I shall look to get the 320D badge removed as well, because I don’t want anyone to know it’s a 4-pot haha. I love it anyway!

Picked up this '07 130i LE last summer after hankering after a 130 for a while!

Used to have an E30 with a stroked 3.0 litre M52 engine in, and always regretted moving that car on - this sure feels like a spiritual successor, in some ways. Though it's also my first black car, being Carbon Black... keeping it clean is, um, a task haha!

Lovely car you've found there. thumbup

I probably should have bought a 130i myself but saved a coupe of grand and got a 330i with the same N52 engine.

Carbon Black may be hard to keep clean, but looks fantastic when the sun hits it right!

The old girl's looking a little sad right now but hope to have her back on the road in the next month

I started the electric conversion last year it drives really well, very smooth then I managed to cook the inverter

Lease is going back. So decided to make my first foray into the world of BMW ownership.

Didn't want anything too risky so i opted for an exceptionally leggy (160k) 335i in the hope that anything that does go wrong with these already has and its solid!

Bad points;
- Stone chips on bonnet are awful. (Whatever happens i refuse to ever buy a "bonnet condom" that some people stick on their car)
- Drivers side seatbelt pusher-forwarder doesnt seem to work (it moves but doesnt open to catch the belt)
- Moving from a modern car the lack of apple carplay will kill me - any recommendations for a good retro fit system? I have the CCC iDrive i believe.
- The car has 4 new tyres. From 4 different manufacturers. None premium, 1 mid range, rest are "lesser known".

Anywhos - excited to see what the future holds! I've not had the thrill of an MOT recently and am hankering for the desolation or thrill of a MOT lottery...

After trading in my MINI Clubman JCW I have finally got my 1st ever BMW, an M2 Competition bought from Southport BMW. 25k miles, DCT. Due to a combination of work and being unwell I haven’t had chance to drive it enough yet. Hopefully make amends later this week and at the weekend. Initial impression is it’s great!

I have had my E30 Touring off the road for a year and a half, stripped it down in August 2021 for a colour change respray to San Marino Blue and got it back from paint in January 2022.
probably spent about 650 hours working on it on days off to rebuild it and full renovation including engine rebuild, powder coating suspension and subframes
Hack Engineering ported the cylinder head and fitted a fast camshaft, I rebuilt the rest.
Just a few interior trims remaining now but it is back on the road.

That is simply glorious, always loved the E30 touring. 335i? Used to love the sound, such a pure engine noise, very distinctive. My dad's friend had one back in the early 90s, albeit a saloon - you always knew it was him coming down the street.

I could never afford one back then, and by the time I could, they were a bit too old to be a reliable daily. Been making up for it though, and now on my 3rd touring in a row, having had two F31s and now a G21.

That, is gorgeous!

Every since the WD episode when they did the E30 325i touring I've wanted one... Such a great looking car

No photos to hand of my first F31, a 320d MS in Alpine white, but plenty of the 330d MS+ which I just sold in November. Had it 6 years from new (pre reg). A cracking car, never put a foot wrong and only visited the dealership for its servicing and the EGR recalls. Just a few subtle mods, black grilles, MP diffuser and MP brake discs when it came time to change. Was 6 years old with only about 23k miles -

Common sense (and my other half) said keep it, and I was sorry to see it go, but I'd wanted an M340i for ages and a few were dipping into my price range, so in December I bought this G21. Again a couple of subtle mods just done this past week - OEM MP side sill extensions and Maxton rear diffuser. Didn't really care for the OEM diffusers, just a bit too tame I felt. Didn't want anything too lairy either so for me the Maxton is perfect. May also fit the Maxton roof spoiler extension/lip. It's actually very similar to what's fitted on the M3 G81, a car I'd have if I could justify it (which I can't, not even to myself!). Car is currently wearing its winter boots (Autec Bavaris with Pirelli Sottozero 2 tyres) -

ACS springs and Eibach spacers may be next, but my work often requires parking on road verges and the like, so the extra ride height comes in handy. Extremely happy with it and can see me keeping it for many years.

Thanks Dan. Tbh honest I was hunting for Dravit grey (pearl effect) or Oxide grey (lighter but almost a champagne colour) but there were so few G21s available within my search parameters (age, mileage, spec and obviously price), that I had to compromise on colour. Must admit, I do like the mineral grey and as I keep my cars clean it pops nicely in the sunshine. On greyer days it actually looks better than Dravit, which can tend to look a bit flat.

I still like black, but after 6 years know only too well how hard it is to keep them looking their best.

Yeah; I'll never own another black car again laugh

My previous F01 was Azurite Black; but in sunlight it was very much blue; gorgeous colour. Much easier to maintain than the Sapphire Black E39 I had years back...

I know folk don't have a lot of love for silver cars; but it's one of my favourite colours; easy to keep clean and looks great when it is clean etc biggrin
