Recently changed from my 2005 730d to a 2012 (facelift) 760Li !

Bought it at 4.5 years old, only 21k miles and nearly mint condition - never smoked in, zero marks or wear on the interior and a whole 2 tiny stone chips on the outside. I couldn't believe what a bargain it was, especially as I bought it from BMW Park Lane London (only dealer own by BMW, ie not a franchise) so it came with new mats, plates, and properly cleaned.

2 weeks after buying it did a 2 week driving holiday around Scotland - 2,700 miles! Perfect car for passing all the bumbling tourists on the choked roads (my advice for Scotland trips = avoid the NC500 route, use the other equally as amazing but quiet roads!). End to end trip averaged 22.0 mpg despite some extremely 'keen' driving and overtaking.

I drove a 760Li at Brands Hatch and was blown away by the performance and the fact it had over £30k's worth of options!

Yours looks very nice indeed.

I've owned several BMWs:
'92 E32 730i (started rusting so I let it go cheap)
'07 E85 Z4 2.0i (sold it and the buyer wrote it off within 6 months)
'03 E53 X5 3.0d Sport individual (gearbox went on this, surprise surprise)
'03 E85 Z4 2.5i - NIGHTMARE - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&am...
'12 E82 118d Sport coupe
'98 E31 840i Sport individual - new to me and a keeper!

My dad used to have a very special E31 850i when I was growing up, so I've just re-joined the club with an E31 840i in Estoril Blue.

It needs a few little jobs, and some general TLC, but the drive back yesterday was epic! 31mpg isn't bad from a 4.4L V8

It´s LHD in the top picture and RHD in the bottom picture, which one is it? LHD or RHD?

Bottom picture is correct, as the badge is on the right of the boot. The top one has just been flipped.

Thanks. I'd hoped to bring it to the BMW Sunday Service, but didn't manage to get to the delayed registration so I'm unlikely to get a spot given how far down the reserve list I am. I was keen to let people have a look around and inside it.

It generally goes unnoticed, it's quite the Q car. The only time it got properly spotted was a few weeks ago in the Glenlivet car park. I'd parked up the back near a minibus. I went on the tour and then saw through the window a group of Argentinian biker whisky tour were boarding their wee minibus and twigged what it is. They were all peering in the windows and taking selfies! Shame they were not around when I got done on the tour - I'd happily have let them inside it and even a quick zoom up an down the (by then totally empty) car park.

Mine is actually close to base spec - no fridge, no night vision and no M sport styling package. How do I survive?! Although the latter means I get the "V12" badging on the door sills instead of M - I much prefer V12!

The performance is nuts. I'm also impressed with the difference in character between the Comfort+ and Sport + modes. In comfort it's like as wafty soft as you'd expect for a Rolls, yet in sport it's firm and instant with zero response lag on the throttle, and no hint of turbo.

Picked this up the weekend, a 2001 530i SE matched to an auto box. Paid £1,700.00.

Not too many extras but has xenons which is what I was keen to have.

Slight ding in the rear quarter but otherwise bodywork is good.

Were mudflaps a standard option? I think they need to be removed IMO.

That does look nice, agree on the xenons, I've had e39's with xenons and standard halogens and the xenons are waaaaay better! I'm also with you on the mudflaps, they would have to go. smile

Love seeing the pics of the early 3 series (chrome topped bumpers). It was my first proper company car - no radio, no electric windows, no aircon, no power steering... all extras in those days.

One of my cars is a BMW under the skin - a 4.8 V8.

Wingman, I agree the mudflaps don't suit the car in that colour.

Your bootlid badge is in the wrong place too, that would have to be moved to the correct position or deleted IMO.

This evening is the first time I've gone in my car in the dark since buying it a couple of months ago (nights are drawing in). Just noticed the sills! Now I'm quite glad it's not a M-sport trim as then I'd have the 'common' M sills, much prefer these!

I was going to say that. It surprises me how many cars you see like that. Resprayed or repaired at some point presumably? Would have to be moved as you say
