Collected my latest toy yesterday - an E86 Z4MC with H & R coil-overs and CSL replica wheels.

Thrilled would be an under-statement!

Very nice indeed.

I tip my cap - that indeed looks lovely.

My 320d M Sport Touring after a rare winter handwash. Used as a daily and just hit 105k. Recently put a Bilstein B12 Pro Sport suspension kit on after the original shocks went and it has transformed how the car drives. In some ways it's now more composed than the e92 M3 I sold late last year such is the improvement in the suspension. Doesnt have the poise or the peak grip (undestandably) but its definately as stable mid corner and more compliant without being too harsh. The remap to 225hp (from south west incartech) has worked fantastically well also and it still never does less than 51mpg however I drive it which is quite incredible for a 10ur old car. With Dunlop Sport Maxx all round it really drives well. Couldn't ask for more for an all rounder.

Yeah another b12 kitted car owner here. I thought my 5 series felt a bit soft as I was used to the firmer ride of the 3 series sport cars. Had mine on the car about 3 years I think. I still enjoy the feeling of the way it goes over bumps because you can feel the damping if that makes sense. Mine has developed a clunk or knock from the front. It's been doing that now for a while. I'm just ignoring it for now. If I ever get my move organised to somewhere with a drive rather than just on street parking I might rip it to bits and replace all the arms. I hope it's those or the top mounts and not the damper itself knocking.

They suggested I change the top mounts on mine (which I did at the same time for about an extra £100). Did you change yours when they put yours on?

No

I got someone to do it for me. He didn't suggest I should change anything else.

Agreed. Just makes the rear that much more aggressive

Hi Fellow Piston-headers

Some very lovely BM's on this thread!! I am a newbie and joined yesterday as lots of great tips, advice and lowdown on these motors (why I did not sign up ages ago - I do not know!! mad ) - so many thanks folks!

Here is my loyal 2000 E36 1.9 M sport Compact in Avus Blue with genuine BMW M Styling (M3 Elec mirrors, Boot Spoiler, Side Skirts, Front Valance/Splitter etc and the upgraded BBS style BMW optional rims)...which will mark my 15th year of ownership this April.. and sadly now it is listed here on the PH classifieds yesterday for sale, if any fellow E36 Compact fans on here knows anyone who may be interested? Full details listed in the Ad here, (which I hope is within the acceptable terms of this post):

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Any advice (good or bad ;-) welcome on this modern classic as not many seen on the road nowadays

Many thanks...Kammy
