He sounds like a privately educated guy to me, possibly ex military maybe an officer. Sounds a bit like James Blunt.

I've watched a few of his long distance vlogs, the Bonnie to the Sahara desert was good and the trip to Sicily in a 100k miles Fiat 500 towing the bike on a trailer very good viewing. But I'm not a biker so the reviews etc don't really mean much to me.

In this episode he talks about tricks that manufactures use, including weight, torque and tyre choices.

ETA. Some of the stuff he talks about I do not agree with, like chain lube and certain engine types, but the overall production is superb.
