Good write up. Like the Colour scheme and love these and the sound. The TT marshals use them and it is just a good watching them go round the course as it is riders lol.

I don't like the idea of it having TC or anti wheelie.
Not wanting to get into a barney here, but i'll just offer one thought from the other side of the coin.
If Ismad had TC on his bike and it saved him the off, trip to hospital and cost of a rebuild, wouldn't we agree it's agood thing? If a TC system can be disabled by a talented rider, isn't that the better option? There for all but removeable by those that wish not to have it?
I for one am all for systems that keep bikes and bikers shiny side up as much as possible, but leave the option to have/have not up to the given rider on any given day.
Just a thought.
Pah, down that road lies mandatory leg protectors and airbags biggrin

For the record I agree with you

Just a note - please DON'T shut the throttle off if the rear starts to slide.
This is a very quick path to high side and pain.

If it's a small slide, often staying on the throttle is the best thing to do as the bike will 'self correct'.
If it's bigger, back off a bit.
But all the way will likely see the rear gripping way too harshly, add in the engine braking etc to mess up the bikes dynamics and you'll be getting a nice aerial view.

Thankfully I've only come off one highside, though I have been chcuked on to the thank a few times - the time I did come it again threw me on to the tank/front fairing, which I then rolled off on to the tarmac.
Bike carried on up right and came to rest still upright on a hay bail. Marshall gave me a fire extinguisher and told me to go check on the bike - not great when I was still confused after having been seriously winded for the first time!

Yea, it would seem so - at least to that extent.
As I lay in the gravel unable to move I was really quite worried about what I'd done to myself.
Managed to get up, but felt like 'slow motion' as I tried to run over to safety behind the bales.

At least when I had a nastier accident, I understood why it was I couldn't move.
Generally I tend to 'bounce' fairly well, so have usually just got up and carried on.

I think there comes a point when (usually after an 'off') you're not so proud or alpha-male to recognise that some electronic aids might not be such a bad thing. To state the obvious bikes aren't like cars where breaking traction isn't usually a major problem and adds to the fun factor. But fun on a bike is about speed and lean angle, so if TC helps allow you the push the limits while lowering the possible embarrassment and cost of a crash I'd welcome it.

Yea; I'd definitely like a bike with ABC and TC for commuting.
When I had to go across Reading and out the other side everyday I chose a GSXR1000 - while I did ok bar one incident (low speed low slide on a roundabout - a bit too cold for that lean angle), it'd be nice to have ABS for the times the car pulls infront of you while filtering and TC for when you open it up that bit too much for the drizzly conditions.
For fun road and track riding, I'm less bothered - though having had 60 or so crashes on the road and a lot when racing/race practices, the investment may well have paid off in parts purchased smile.

Heh; I got a 'special deal' when I was racing as sponsorship smile.

Most of the 60 on the road were low speed low sides - 11 on my cg125 which was my first bike - locking the front or cornering a bit too hard in cold/wet/loose gravel etc.
My rate has slowed down these days I'm glad to say smile.

Did have a lot more when racing; but only two on trackdays and both were losing the front due to my own ****wittery in adverse conditions.

+1 and again...

Been looking at a BMW K1300S after a while away. Subzero - what BM did you ride 'in anger'

Having come off a trail bike in a paddock 2 years ago and broken collar bone, ribs shoulder blade and v badly winded (10 seconds no breathing felt like a lifetime) - am all for as much TC as I can get...
S1000RR, the 200bhp superbike with all the toys. Awesome piece of kit, i just didnt like the riding position compared to the Kwaka ZX10R (which is what im now hoping to get in the New Year).

Remember it shouldn't be too hard to get adjustable foot pegs and bars on there - though whether there's really a massive difference between the two outside of magazine reviews trying to justify their existence is another matter smile.

^ absolutely yes
+3, biggrin. This is something I was wondering about in the last couple days after reading Steve's posts on the Bazzaz system cool. I am in two minds, as much as I wish I had not crashed I hate to think I would only be able to do this with electronics. Maybe I should look at it as a learning tool, progressively use less TC as I get used to the bike telling me what it is doing. scratchchin

Back on topic. Love the new colour and the sound is great, good write up.

Did actually mostly wear Orange; though the last set of leathers left me described by my kindly friends as "a giant safety panda".

Hey Matt, I bought some tyres off you a couple of years back, I contacted you via Visordown, A mate called Dave who Instructs for No Limits picked them up for me.

Just realised who you are.

Scorcher - doesnt the blade come with ABS??

For my part, I'm all in favour. The top racers have these systems, and they have skills waaaaaay above mine. So if these systems can save those great riders, then they will surely save me one day too. And the best part is, I probably wont even know it.

Adjustable kit is an option, but at a price of around £10k i'd kinda like it to fit from the outset. You also cant test ride them with adjustable kit on. My main reason though is my best mate has the BMW and getting the Kwaka which is 10 grams lighter and half a horsepower more than his at a lesser price will just wind the s**t out of him!!!! laugh

Riding them (as i said, im just an average Joe kinda rider) i couldnt tell the difference other than how i was sat. Both truly awesome.

That would of been the BT003's then if I remember correctly. Hope they were ok for you.
